Will OnePlus 10 Ultra be overpriced?

How much do Oneplus10 actually cost?
Although OnePlus has decided this year to lower the price of its Smartphones, the price of the OnePlus 10 Pro is quite different from that of the OnePlus 9. Indeed, you need to count 4699 yuan, or 650 euros for the version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage then 4999 yuan, or 692 euros with regard to the version with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Finally, you have to pay 5299 yuan, or 733 euros for the version with 12 GB of RAM and a capacity of 256 GB as storage.
The phone would therefore be significantly cheaper than the OnePlus 9 Pro from last year which was sold from 4999 yuan or 692 euros. It comes in two colorways, namely Volvanic Black and Emerald Forest.
For information, the previous version was marketed from 719 euros for the OnePlus 9, and 919 euros for the OnePlus 9 Pro. OnePlus had even offered a version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage which cost 999 euros. The OnePlus 10 Pro could therefore be offered at 849 euros or 899 euros this year.
Significant improvements despite lower prices
OnePlus has made notable changes to the design of its OnePlus 10 Pro. Indeed, the first renderings showed that OnePlus had opted for a new design on the back of the Smartphones this year. This makes it stand out better from other phones.
The brand is also delivering top-flight performance again in 2022, seeing as it’s powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip . The latter responds to the model number SM8450 and has the code name Waipo. Its manufacture is made by Samsung and engraved in 4 nm just like the MediaTek Dimensity 9000. It is a little more powerful thanks to a slightly more advanced engraving process signed by TSMC.
The OnePlus 10 Pro should increase over the OnePlus 9 Pro since it uses a slightly more powerful 5000 mAh battery , compared to 4500 mAh for the previous generation. The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro have the same battery. It is therefore very likely that the OnePlus 10 will also see its battery increase to 5000 mAh. We can then expect better autonomy on the two models of OnePlus 10 compared to the OnePlus 9.
A real competitor of the best Smartphones despite its cost
Like Xiaomi, this brand has made a name for itself through phones called flagship killers . These devices had quite high performance, but their prices were half the price of a high-end device from Apple or Samsung.
Today, OnePlus has made progress. It has moved upmarket and its flagship products have practically nothing or almost nothing to envy to the flagships of Samsung and Apple. Of course, prices have also increased.
The OnePlus 10 Ultra could go even further by offering a rival for the future Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and Xiaomi 12 Ultra, also for the iPhone 13 Pro Max. While the OnePlus 10 Pro is just a simple flagship, the OnePlus 10 Ultra would present itself as a super flagship, with a more impressive technical sheet and a very high price.
With such a model, OnePlus would tackle a whole new segment and demonstrate that it is now playing in the big leagues.
