How to italicize Instagram stories

Are you going to write in cursive on Instagram Stories ? In this case, as anticipated, you can directly use the official Instagram app for Android (also downloadable from alternative stores ) and iOS , which allows you to create stories and also insert textual content in italics in them.

Therefore, start Instagram, log in to your account (if required) and, in the home screen of the app (accessible via the house icon ) swipe from left to right , to start the story creation editor .

At this point, create a multimedia-type story, taking a photo or recording a video using the round button located in the center . Then press the Aa icon to open the text editor and type the text of your interest.

Alternatively, to create a text-only story, press the Create item located on the left on the main screen of Instagram stories, tap on the item Touch to type (located right in the center of the screen) and type the message you want to post on Instagram. Once this is done, click on the Next button .

Now, in both cases, to change the font of the text, tap on it, then scroll right or left, to see all the fonts available and select one of those in italics. For example, one of those for writing elegant cursive on Instagram .

You can also customize the color of the writing, by pressing on the color selector located at the top and change the background, by pressing on the (A) with the two stars , in order to highlight the text.

After having created your writing, confirm its insertion, by tapping on the Finish button , and then pressing on one of the sharing options among those available: Your story , to publish the final result in your Instagram story; Send to , to send it to another user via Direct or Save , to save it locally.

If you want to write in italics on the photos you post on Instagram you have to rely on third-party solutions. In this case, you can use apps to write on photos, such as those listed below, and then post the result on Instagram .

  • Quotes Creator( Android / iOS / iPadOS ) – this is an app that allows you to easily insert writings on photos, especially designed for creating images with quotes. It allows you to choose from many different fonts and styles, but in order to unlock them all you need to purchase the paid version, which costs € 6.99 / one-time.
  • Phonto( Android / iOS / iPadOS ) – this popular photo writing app allows you to use hundreds of fonts and many formatting styles. To remove the advertising you need to purchase the paid version, which costs € 4.59 on Android and € 4.99 on iOS / iPadOS.

  • Canva( Android / iOS / iPadOS / Online ) – this famous online service, also available as an app for Android and iOS, allows you to add writings to photos (as well as create many other graphic “jobs”) in an easy, fast and , above all, free. To use Canva, however, you need to register for the service via your email or your Facebook or Google accounts .
  • PicFont( Online ) – popular free Web service that allows you to write on photos. Unlike Canva, it can be used without registering.

Alternatively, you could also use online services to add text to images . For more information and “ideas” about it, you can take a look at my guides on apps for writing on photos , apps for writing sentences , on how to insert writings on photos and on how to write on photos .

How do you say? Do you want to write captions in italics on Instagram ? In this case, you can take advantage of online font editing apps or services, such as those illustrated in the next chapter of this tutorial.

How to write in cursive on Instagram profile

Do you want to write in italics on Instagram bio , this in the biography of your profile? Unfortunately, even in this case, it is not possible to resort to official solutions. Instagram, in fact, does not integrate any specific function to format the text of the captions that accompany your posts or your biography.

Therefore, after pressing the Edit profile button , which is used to access the edit section of your Instagram profile, the only solution you can adopt to break down the limit imposed by the photographic social network is to use online services to generate texts with particular fonts and then paste the result in the Instagram biography (or even in the caption of a post or in a comment). It’s not the best of comfort, I know, but it’s the only way to go right now.

That said, to write in italics on Instagram online , a service that you can use for this purpose is Unicode Text Converter (if you remember correctly, I already told you about it in my tutorial on how to write in bold on Facebook ).

To use it, connected to its home page , type the phrase you want to publish in italics on Instagram in the text field on the screen and then click on the Show button .

On the web page that opens, locate a font in italics (eg Math bold italic or Math sans bold italic ), then copy and paste it in your Instagram biography , in the caption of a post you want to publish or in a comment and, as by “magic”, you will be able to format the text to your liking.

Other solutions that can help you in this regard are online text formatting websites like Lingojam fonts for Instagram , Instafonts.io and the Meta Tags font generator or apps like Fonts for Instagram for Android and iOS / iPadOS . for more information about it, I suggest reading my tutorial on how to write with different fonts on Instagram .

Note : Italic text generated by services such as those listed above may not display correctly on all devices and platforms. Instead of the italicized text, in fact, “x” could be displayed.
