You are a fan of Minecraft, Mojang’s well-known sandbox video game, and have by now carried out countless constructions within it. However, you have come up with a structure that you have not yet created and that you would like to create to leave your friends speechless: a gaming station. In today’s tutorial, in fact, I will explain how to make a gaming station on Minecraft. Preliminary information
Before going into the details of the procedure on how to make a gaming station on Minecraft, I think it may interest you to know more about this possibility.
Well, Minecraft includes several elements within its basic inventory, but sadly it lacks some technological devices. For example, the computer monitor is not available as a basic item.
However, as you well know, the title of Mojang relies heavily on the imagination of the players and therefore the community has managed to find ingenious methods to solve this “problem”, without even having to use mods (there is also that type of solution, but I’ll talk about it later in the guide).
Put simply, a shield and a black banner are combined, rotating them to make them look like a monitor. Obviously, the latter will not work, but I can assure you that it will make a lot of scene and will be particularly useful for your gaming station in Minecraft.
For the rest, the materials you need are not very difficult to find, but I recommend that you follow this guide in Creative mode, in order to familiarize yourself with the procedure and have an overview that will allow you not to make mistakes.
How to create a gaming station in Minecraft
After explaining the possibilities offered by Minecraft to build a gaming station, I would say that you are ready to build this structure.
Well, the first thing to do is get the command block. To do this, simply open the chat (eg T key on PC) and use the command / give [username] minecraft: command_block (eg /give Zane minecraft:command_block).
At this point, your character needs to be facing West while building. This is necessary for the correct rotation of the elements you are going to place. Therefore, access the debug screen (eg F3 key on PC ) and make sure that it says Facing west on the left. Then remember to disable the debug screen.
Next, take some jungle slabs and build a small table, so that you have a starting station.
Then place 3 command blocks on top of the table. Press on them and enter, respectively, these commands (starting from the block on the left): / summon armor_stand ~ 0 ~ -0.8 ~ 0.58 {Invisible: 1b, NoGravity: 1b, ShowArms: 1b, Rotation: [315f], Pose : {LeftArm: [360f, 0f, 0f]}} , / summon armor_stand ~ -0.7 ~ -0.8 ~ {Invisible: 1b, NoGravity: 1b, ShowArms: 1b, Rotation: [0f], Pose: {LeftArm: [360f , 0f, 0f]}} and / summon armor_stand ~ 0 ~ -0.8 ~ -0.6 {Invisible: 1b, NoGravity: 1b, ShowArms: 1b, Rotation: [45f], Pose: {LeftArm: [360f, 0f, 0f] }} .
You can also copy and paste them with Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V to do first. Do not leave trailing white spaces. Remember to click on Done in each block to save the changes.
At this point, place 3 Redstone blocks in front of the command blocks. If everything is correct, the game should inform you that armor stands have been created. Don’t worry if you don’t see them, they are invisible just to make the structure more beautiful.
Destroy, therefore, both the Redstone blocks and those of the commands.
Next, place a workbench on the ground and insert a shield and black banner at the bottom right to create and inventory a black shield. Perfect, the latter will be your monitor, as it looks a lot like it if positioned correctly.
Now, you simply need to place 3 black shields on each invisible armor stand. Don’t worry if you can’t “catch” them the first time, try again without breaking anything until you have a triple monitor setup.
At this point, take a dark oak button and place it on the right, so that you have a mouse.
Already so the station is beautiful to look at, but clearly you might want a keyboard. Well, in this case, you just have to break the central plate, make a hole and place an armor stand, placing a mesh helmet on top of it.
Next, place a block of spruce planks on top of the rebar support and place a downward facing piston on it (perhaps using support blocks). Then place a block of Redstone to push the block of spruce planks down.
Perfect, now you have the fretboard and the color difference between the fir plank blocks and the jungle slabs also guarantees some pop to that area.
In case you want to add some speakers, it is possible to generate a head in the shape of a chest to be placed on the desk. To do this, just open the chat (eg. T key on PC ) and use the command / give @p minecraft: player_head {display: {Name: “{” text “:” Speaker “}”}, SkullOwner: ” ThePearlyBum2 ″} .
In this way, the house will be generated directly in your character’s hand. All you have to do is place one on the right and one on the left and that’s it.
Great, now the gaming station is essentially ready. You could, of course, think of embellishing it by building walls around it, or contextualizing it in a room of a house, depending on your preferences.
Also, you might be interested in making a chair to add to the station. In that case, I invite you to consult my tutorial on how to make a chair in Minecraft, where I also explained how to make one for gaming.
Mod to add a gaming station to Minecraft
How do you say? Does the use of only the elements present by default within the game not satisfy you and would you like a more advanced station? No problem, for your purpose there is MrCrayfish’s Device Mod, which adds interesting technological devices directly to the Minecraft inventory.
The mod is compatible with the Java edition for PC of the game and, in particular, with version 1.12.2, which is also one of the most popular among lovers of personalized content.
To proceed, you need to connect to the CurseForge website and press the Download button on the right. Then, move / copy the device-mod- [version] .jar file obtained in the Minecraft mod folder: on Windows , the path to follow is C: \ Users \ [username] \ AppData \ Roaming \ .minecraft \ mods , while on macOS it is ~ / Library / Application Support / minecraft / mods .
At this point, you need to configure the Forge profile, which allows you to install and manage mods in Minecraft. I remind you that, in this case, the supported version is 1.12.2. If you don’t have the latter, I suggest you take a look at my guide on how to change the Minecraft version.
In any case, to download Forge, you simply need to connect to its official website, click on the link for version 1.12.2 and click on Installer (you may have to skip some advertisements). Once this is done, start the forge- [version] – installer.jar file obtained, select the Install Client item and click OK. Perfect, now everything is ready to use MrCrayfish’s Device Mod.
Open, therefore, the Minecraft Launcher, press on the down arrow icon on the left, near the PLAY button, select the Forge profile and start a game in Creative mode.
At this point, quickly build a table using oak slabs, in order to have the “base” for your gaming station.
Then, press the E button on your keyboard, click on the right arrow at the top and select the laptop icon. You will see all the technological devices added by the mod appear on the screen, from laptops to routers, through printers, USB sticks and much more. There are also chairs: in short, there is everything to create a gaming station. Just place the objects you like best on the table.
Once the station is created, you can open the laptop by pressing left Shift + right mouse button. To sit on the chair, on the other hand, you just have to press the right button of the mouse, while to go down you have to use the left Shift. By pressing on the laptop, once opened, with the right mouse button, you should see that the computer really works.
Perfect, now you have all the information to build a proper gaming station in Minecraft. Clearly, you can indulge yourself and create the structures that suit you best, perhaps by combining the elements of the mod and those present by default within the game.
