How to update FIFA on PC

On a computer , FIFA is managed directly by the Origin client , that is the program that “contains” all the games made by Electronic Arts. We are talking about the same software that the game asked you to install on your computer when it first started. To learn how to update FIFA , all you have to do is use the special feature implemented in the Origin program.

After verifying that your computer is connected to the Internet , start Origin and log in, entering your email address and password and pressing the Login button (if required). At this point, select the item My Game Library , located on the left, and press on the FIFA box .

Now, press on Settings (the gear icon) and select the Update game item from the next menu, to check for updates. In this way, if Origin detects news, it will automatically download the update.

To enable the automatic updates option, which should actually already be active by default, click on your account icon at the bottom left and select the Application settings item .

At this point, press on the APPLICATION item , present at the top, and move the lever linked to the Automatic game updates item to ON . This way, you should always have all games updated to the latest version available.

How to update FIFA on PS4

Updating any game in the FIFA series for PlayStation 4 is pretty straightforward. In fact, just take advantage of the native functionality implemented in the Sony console: the latter is able to carry out the update in an essentially automatic way and, to use it, just follow quick and simple instructions, which you find below.

The first thing you need to do is make sure the console is connected to the internet. To proceed, turn on the PS4, go to the upper toolbar and press the X button on the pad above the Settings icon . Then, go to Network> Configure Internet connection> Use Wi-Fi> Typical . At this point, just select the name of your Wi-Fi network , enter the relative access key and wait for the console to finish the connection test .

If, on the other hand, you intend to connect the PlayStation 4 to the Internet through an Ethernet cable, you just need to choose the item Use a network cable (LAN) and wait for the verification of the connection to be completed. For all the details of the case, I invite you to take a look at my tutorial on how to connect the PS4 to the Internet .

After verifying that your console is indeed connected to the internet, you need to log into your PlayStation Network account. Then go to the upper toolbar and press the X button on the controller on the Settings icon . Next, select the Account Management> Login to PlayStation Network items , enter your PSN account email address and password and press the Sign In button .

If you do not yet have a PlayStation Network account, simply select the entry New PlayStation Network user? Create an account and follow the instructions that appear on the screen. For more information and the complete procedure, I recommend that you consult my guide on how to access PlayStation Network . Perfect, now you have correctly configured the connection of the PS4 and you can proceed to update FIFA.

If you have the game in physical format, on Blu-ray, all you have to do is insert the disc into the console player and press the X button of the pad above the FIFA box that will appear on the screen. If any updates are available for the game, the PlayStation 4 will notify you and start downloading the latest version of FIFA. The system will also provide you with indications regarding the estimate of the time that will be taken to perform the download and will indicate the weight of the update.

If, on the other hand, you have purchased FIFA in digital version , by downloading the entire game from the PlayStation Store , you do not have to do anything. Sony provides, in fact, that every title downloaded from the PlayStation 4 internal store is already at the latest version and that all subsequent updates are downloaded automatically from the console. In some cases, the first update might be downloaded as a separate file from the game, but you don’t have to worry: the PS4 will pretty much do everything by itself and you just have to wait for the installation to finish.

By the way, to check the continuation of the various downloads, all you have to do is go, starting from the main screen of the PlayStation 4, in the upper toolbar and press the Notifications icon first and then on the Download one . Here you will find all downloads in progress, those paused and those completed in the past. To “stop” a download momentarily, just press the X button of the pad above it and select the Pause item , while to delete it you have to choose Cancel and delete .

To enable automatic updates on the PlayStation 4, an option that should already be activated by default, just go to the Settings> System menu and check the Application update file box . I remind you that PlayStation Plus subscribers can download updates even while the PS4 is in rest mode. In short, it is not that difficult to update FIFA on the Sony console, but, if you need more details, I recommend that you check out my guide on how to update games on PS4 .

As for the other consoles for which the FIFA video game series is available, such as Xbox One and Nintendo Switch , the procedure to follow is quite similar to the one above for PlayStation 4. In fact, all you have to do is connect the console to the Internet , log in to your account and start FIFA from the main screen, by inserting the disc / cartridge in physical format or by pressing on the appropriate box of the digital version. For more information, I recommend that you check out my tutorials on how to connect Xbox to the Internet and how to set up Nintendo Switch

How to update squads in FIFA

In addition to the “basic” updates, the “standard” version of FIFA, which is the one available for PC and console, also allows you to update the squads, in order to always remain “on par” with what is happening in the real world.

To do this, usually just go to the CUSTOMIZE menu , accessible from the main screen of the game, and first select the EDIT TEAMS item and then the DOWNLOAD UPDATES item . Now all you have to do is click on Yes and that’s it.

Clearly, the update of the roses depends on Electronic Arts and therefore the instructions for downloading them and their actual availability may vary depending on the time of year.
