How to sign out of Google account on android

How to log out of your Google account on your phone to save all data? We talk about all the possible ways.

You can sign out of your Google account from any application that your account is associated with, for example:

  • Google Chrome.
  • gmail.
  • YouTube.
  • Google play.

In addition, you can log out through the phone settings in the “Accounts” or “Accounts” section. The name of the section will be slightly different depending on the smartphone model. Having opened this section, in the list of all accounts, you must select the line “Google”. Next, the screen will display all the Google accounts registered on the phone. Select the one you want to sign out of, click on the colon in the corner of the screen, and select Delete Account. Sometimes this option is available as a button:

What happens if you remove your Google account from your smartphone?

Many users are worried about the “Delete account” action, since deletion usually means a complete loss of data on the phone. This is not true. The “Delete account” item means deleting an account only from the phone. The owner will not be able to use contacts that are saved on a Google account, but not saved in the smartphone’s memory. Also, notes in the Google calendar, Google Drive data and some other files will not be available to him. However, access will be restored as soon as the user logs back into the account on the phone.

The “Delete Account” action does not mean that the Google Account will be deleted. This action is completely safe, although it deprives the user of access to many data. There are other ways to sign out of your Google account that may be more practical.

Adding a new Google account

If the user wants to log out of the account only temporarily and then regain access, then the fastest way to do this is to create a new account. By adding another Google account, you can instantly switch between them. Each time you log in, you do not need to enter your email address and password. To add an additional Google account, you need to:

  1. In the phone settings section called “Accounts” or “Accounts”, select the “Add account” action.
  2. Then select the line “Google”.
  3. Enter your new email address and password once.

Now, if you need to temporarily log out of your account, it will be enough to select a second Google account. The exit from the first will happen automatically. To change your account, you must:

  1. Go to phone settings.
  2. Select the “Google” section.
  3. Click on your current account.
  4. In the pop-up window, select an additional account.

Signing out of your Google account on a computer

You can also sign out of your Google account on your phone remotely. To do this, you need to log into the same account from a computer – through the Google.com website. Next, on the right, you need to click on the icon of your Google account. In the menu that opens, select “Google Account Management”, then “Security”. If you scroll down, you can find the “Your Devices” section. At the bottom of this column, select “Device Management”.

The list displays all devices on which the user is signed in to their Google account. Of these, you need to select the one you need and click on the three dots next to this device. In the menu that appears, it remains to activate the action “Exit”. So the user will remotely log out of the Google account on the smartphone.
