Put the Google bar back on Samsung

Are you interested in understanding how to put the Google bar back on Samsung? Then follow the instructions on what to do that you find right below. In the following lines, in fact, I will explain how to proceed both in case of removal of the widget from the Android Home screen and in case of deactivation (or deletion) of the related Google app. In both cases, don’t worry, you won’t have to do anything particularly complicated, quite the contrary.

Add the widget

If by “hacking” with your Samsung smartphone (or tablet) you have mistakenly deleted the widget related to the Google search bar that was present on the Home screen, you can easily restore it by first taking your device, unlocking it and accessing its home screen.

At this point, press and continue to hold down for a few moments in a point where there are no icons or other elements, tap on the Widget item located at the bottom of the screen for customizing the home screen that you see appear and scroll, by swiping to the right or true left, the list of available widgets.

When you locate the group of widgets called Google,  press on it, then press and continue to hold down on the Google widget , so as to bring it to the home screen and, moving your finger, place it in the position and screen where it was originally.

Should you have second thoughts, you can always and in any case remove the Google search bar again by pressing on it for a few moments and, continuing to hold down, dragging it to the trash can icon that in the meantime will appear at the top of the screen. That’s all!

Activate the Google app

Did you follow the instructions I gave you in the previous lines but still haven’t managed to put the Google bar back on your Samsung? Obviously it is because the toolbar has disappeared following the deactivation (or uninstallation) of the Google app pre-installed on your device, the one thanks to which you can quickly access the search functions of “Big G”.

To activate the application again and, consequently, the display of the search bar on the Home screen, proceed as follows: take your device, unlock it, access the home screen and the screen where all applications are grouped and press on Settings (the gear icon ).

In the new screen that is now shown to you, select the Applications item, press the All apps menu at the top and tap on the word Disabled, so as to view only the applications that have been disabled on the device. Then locate the Google app, press it and press the Activate button to enable it again.

Then, if you had completely uninstalled the Google app (operation possible only and exclusively on rooted devices ), to be able to install it again you will have to act through the Play Store, the official Android store from which you can download apps and games. by accessing the dedicated section and downloading it from there.

So, go to the screen of your smartphone (or tablet) in which the icons of all applications are grouped, press the Play Store (the icon with the multicolored   symbol ), type, in the search bar at the top, the keyword Google and tap the button with the magnifying glass on the virtual keyboard. Then, select the first among the applications in the list, press the Install button and then the Accept button. Then wait for the download and installation procedure to be completed and you’re done.

After completing the above steps, regardless of whether you previously deactivated or removed the Google app, the search engine bar will reappear in the list of available widgets. You just have to add it to the Home screen by following the instructions I gave you in the previous step.

Subsequently, if you want to deactivate the Google app again to remove the search bar from the home screen of your Samsung device, all you have to do is access the smartphone (or tablet) screen where the icons of all applications are grouped, press on the Google app (the one with the Google logo, in fact) and, continuing to hold down, drag it to the trash can symbol that appears at the top of the screen. Finally, confirm your intention to deactivate the app by pressing the Deactivate item in response to the warning appeared.

If, on the other hand, you want to proceed with the actual removal of the app (always in the case of a rooted device, as I have specified a few lines above), you can rely on the System app remover application, used precisely for the purpose in question.

After downloading it from the dedicated section of the Play Store, grant it root permissions by responding affirmatively to the warning that appears on the screen and locate the Google app in the list of installed applications. At this point, put the check mark next to its name and first press the Uninstall button located at the bottom and the Yes button that appears in the center of the screen. If you think you need more details about how the application works, read my tutorial dedicated specifically to how to uninstall Android apps.

Note: depending on the version of Android in use on your Samsung device, the indications I have given you in this step, regarding the items to be selected in the settings, may differ slightly from what you see. For your knowledge, I used a Samsung Galaxy S6 updated to Android 7.0 .

Move the Google bar

Have you finally managed to put the Google bar back on Samsung but now you would like to understand how to move it to its original position or in any case to a different point on the Home screen than where it is currently located? I can help you with that too, don’t worry, it’s child’s play.

To carry out the operation in question, all you have to do is take your device, unlock it, access the Home screen, locate the Google bar and press and continue to hold down on it for a few moments. When you see the selection rectangle appear around it, move the bar to the place on the home screen you prefer and release the grip. Done!

You can also place the Google bar on a different Home screen than the current one. To do this, drag the toolbar, as I indicated earlier, to the right or left side of the screen and position it in the point of the new screen that suits you best.

Resize the Google bar

Is the Google bar too big or too small compared to how it was originally and would you like to understand if there is a way to resize it? Of course yes, God forbid! To perform the operation in question, take your device, unlock it, access the Home screen, locate the Google toolbar and press on it. Then continue to hold down on the bar until you see the selection rectangle appear, then release your grip.

At this point, uses the ball on the right side or on the left to proceed with the reorganization. So, press on one of them and, continuing to hold down, increase or decrease the size of the search bar by moving them towards the inside or outside of the screen. The size of the toolbar will change in real time.

When the changes are complete, press anywhere else on the screen to make sure they are applied. That’s all!
