Preliminary information

Before going into the details of the procedure on how to uninstall upday , I think it may interest you to know more about this application.

Well, upday is an application that is often pre-installed by Samsung on its smartphones. It is designed to provide the user with the latest news in real time and keep him informed of what’s happening in the world. In some models, upday is also integrated into a special panel called Bixby Home or upday.

Yes, it is, therefore, a harmless and free application, which could also be useful if you want to use it. In fact, upday is directly promoted by Samsung. However, I understand that in some cases it can be superfluous, if not downright annoying, and that is why I will now explain how to get rid of it.

How to uninstall upday

After explaining what upday is for, I’d say you’re ready to uninstall it.

If you have one of the latest Samsung smartphone models, upday has probably been installed via the Galaxy Store or Play Store. In this case, all you have to do to get rid of it is to hold down on the upday icon and press first on the Uninstall item and then on OK.

Of course, you can also uninstall upday through the Galaxy Store: to do so, open the latter, search for “upday” in it, select the app icon (a small white “u” on a blue background) and press on the Uninstall item.

How to disable upday

In case you have an outdated smartphone, I am sorry to tell you that you cannot uninstall upday completely. In fact, in this case, we are talking about a system application, which cannot therefore be removed from the device (except through more advanced procedures, which however are not worth running for such futile purposes).

In any case, you can deactivate upday so that you no longer see it and not receive its notifications. To do this, press and hold your finger on an empty space on your smartphone’s home screen. After that, swipe left until you reach the screen called Bixby Home / upday . Now, turn off the lever at the top right.

Perfect, now you have successfully deactivated upday and you will no longer have to deal with the application. Seen? It wasn’t that hard!

How to uninstall upday notifications

How do you say? Don’t want to uninstall upday but just want to remove its notifications? No problem – there is a native Android feature that allows you to do just that.

If you have one of the latest Samsung smartphone models, all you have to do is open the upday app (also by pressing on the news on the Bixby Home / upday screen), tap on the three vertical dots icon at the top of right and select the item My profile from the menu that opens.

At this point, scroll down the page, press the Notifications item and disable the levers next to the Breaking News and Custom Notifications items. Great, you have now successfully turned off notifications related to upday.

If, on the other hand, you have a “dated” smartphone, you need to go to the Settings (the gear icon located on the home screen), select the Applications / Apps item on the next screen and tap on upday.

In some cases, you may need to tap on the ADVANCED item at the top right and select Show system applications. After that, you just have to disable notifications using the appropriate lever . Unfortunately, I cannot be more precise with my indications, as each version of the operating system has a different procedure.

For more information on the application, I recommend that you consult the official upday website.
