Probable causes

In order to use Roblox, it is very important that all software components are up to date. Also some reasons include:

  • the browser simply does not see you and does not launch Roblox;
  • endless installation cycle;
  • crash when trying to open an account or connect to an online game;
  • damage to temporary files;
  • launching another program during installation.

If restarting your computer does not fix the problem, then in order to fix the error “Roblox will not work in Google Chrome”, numerous users on various forums recommend the following solutions.

Make sure the date and time are correct

  • Start / Control Panel / Date and Time.
  • After that, a window will appear in which you can configure the necessary parameters (time, date, time zone) as well as enable / disable their synchronization directly with the server.

It should be noted that in order to synchronize the time with the Internet server, it is recommended that you first specify the real date and only then enable “Update now”. Including synchronization, the set time / date changes automatically.

  • Select “Settings”;
  • Click the “Advanced” tab (additional settings will open);
  • Scroll down and click “Restore default settings (or to their original settings)”;

After the reset, close Google Chrome for the changes to take effect, then go back to your web browser and launch the problematic application.

Clean up your temporary internet files

When “Roblox is not working in Google Chrome” crashes, an important step in any uninstall or reinstall process is to clear your browser’s temporary internet files to help with any corruption issues that might arise. Temporary files are generated when users create a new file, and their role is to temporarily save information until the file the users are working on is saved. Temporary files should be deleted from time to time, otherwise they unnecessarily load your computer’s disk, reducing the overall performance of the entire system. There are 3 simplest and most common ways to perform this procedure. Solution 1:

  • Press Windows Key + R.
  • Enter (or copy)% temp% into the line and click OK.
  • The location of the Temp folder will open. Then press Ctrl + A to select the contents of folders and files, then right-click and select the “Delete” option.

It is important to note that some files cannot be deleted due to the functioning of the system at the moment. In this case, check the box “Make for current elements” on the proposed item. Then click Skip. When using the delete option, you can also press Shift + Del instead of simply deleting so that the files are not moved to the trash, but permanently deleted from the system. Solution 2:

  • Press Win + R. In the Open box, type (or copy) the cleanmgr command. Click “OK” (or Enter).
  • Make sure system drive C is selected by default. Click OK.
  • Wait while the computer scans the C drive, then select the files to delete and click OK again. To remove all additional files, click “Clean up system files”.
  • Click on “Delete files” to confirm.
  • Wait for the process to complete.

After that, all temporary files will be deleted. Solution 3: The most popular tool for getting rid of junk on disks and in the system registry is CCleaner. You can download it from the official website:

  • Run the utility, check the boxes of all the items that you want to get rid of (in this case, these are “Temporary files” in the “System” subsection).
  • You can also clean up all other junk in Windows and accumulated by programs such as Internet browsers.
  • Click on “Analysis” and when done, “Cleanup”.
  • We confirm the completion of the operation.

All 3 methods are effective and, according to user reviews, have helped many to solve the problem “Roblox does not work in Google Chrome”.

Check your firewall

Internet security and antivirus software control which programs can access the Internet. They often fail from a precautionary point of view, and by default none of the programs have access. To get Roblox through any blockages, do this. Firewall / Security Programs:

  • Find the firewall control panel (check the taskbar or Windows control panel).
  • Go to the section “Access rights to the program”.
  • Find Roblox and allow unlimited internet access.

Note. For help with specific software, see the manufacturer’s website or the reference manual for your program. Antivirus: Your antivirus or malware may run in the background and act as an overly cautious firewall preventing critical communication between Roblox / Roblox Studio and linked servers. To fix this, update your antivirus or whitelist Roblox. In some cases, Roblox is flagged as a problem by antivirus, but please note that it is free of viruses and malware. This happens because sometimes the antivirus incorrectly marks programs, which is called false positive. To solve this problem, do the following: Update your antivirus to the latest version – Avast as an example:

  • Open the main window of Avast Free by double-clicking on the shortcut.
  • In the interface that opens, go to the “Maintenance” section and start the update.
  • Wait for the download to complete.

To add Roblox to the antivirus whitelist, do the following:

  • Launch Avast and open the program settings (gears in the upper right corner).
  • By default, the General Settings page opens. Scroll down the list and find Exceptions.
  • To add the required file to the exclusions, write its address in the line (or click the “Browse” button, where select the file in the directory). Click “Add”.
  • When the file address is entered in the Avast list and all changes are saved, the antivirus will stop paying attention to it.

When looking for exceptions on Windows, the Roblox files are located in the folder: C: Users AppData Local Roblox. Routers: Roblox is not required to use specific ports for outgoing data, but it scans to find any free port on your PC. If the router blocks UDP packets on any port, Roblox will not work in Google Chrome. Ports for Roblox are dynamically selected and assigned for each game. Refer to your router manual for instructions on how to unlock it. If you are using a DSL modem that blocks ports – contact your ISP for instructions on how to do this.
