DuckDuckGo prepares its own browser for Windows and macOS

It can be not only safer than Chrome, but also faster.

The developers of the privacy -focused search engine DuckDuckGo announced the development of a desktop application for web browsing.

The creators promise that it will not have complex settings, misleading warnings and “levels” of user data security – only robust privacy protection that works by default in search, when viewing e-mail and much more.

Such an application will prevent companies from spying on users and gaining access to their searches and browsing history, added the developers of DuckDuckGo.

The program will feature not only a clean and understandable interface, but also a high speed of work. In preliminary tests, it turned out to be even faster than Google’s Chrome. In addition, the app will have some proprietary DuckDuckGo features, including a Fire button that instantly erases browsing history and saved data.

The macOS version of the browser is already being tested, but work is also underway on an app for Windows. No release date has been announced yet.
