WhatsApp new feature that many users have been waiting for

Another interesting, and most importantly, useful function may appear in the popular WhatsApp messenger soon. As it became known to the WABetaInfo portal, the developers of the service are working on the function of transferring chats when changing the phone number.

In future updates to WhatsApp, users will be able to transfer their chat histories along with photos, videos and other files if they want to change their number. The system will automatically replace the old WhatsApp number with a new one when changing the SIM card, and in order to transfer all correspondence and content, you will need to connect your smartphone to your account.

As you can see in the screenshots, users will be able to change their phone number in WhatsApp before they start transferring their chat history by clicking on the “Transfer to another phone number?” Button. It is important to note that chat transfer will only be available when you connect an account on a new device.

As a reminder, last month WhatsApp began testing a new chat history transfer feature that will allow users to transfer chat history between iPhones and Android smartphones. It is not yet known when exactly the new features will become available to all WhatApp users. But, most likely, it will take several months.
