The winner of the World Car of the Year 2022 award has been announced
The winner of the World Car of the Year 2022 award, where the electric vehicle wind blows this year, has been announced. Electric vehicles won five categories of the competition, which consisted of a total of 6 categories, including the main prize.
This year we watched Car of the Year in a World dominated by electric vehicles . All three finalists, namely Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6 and Ford Mustang Mach E, were electric. As a result, Hyundai Ioniq 5 was awarded the World Car of the Year 2022 award.
With the inclusion of the Electric Car of the Year category, the winners of a total of six categories were determined in 2022. The winners of 5 of these categories were all-electric. In addition to the main award, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 also took the lead in the Electric Car of the Year and Car Design of the Year categories, receiving a total of three awards.

Car Designer of the Year
- Winner: Hyundai Ioniq 5
- Finalists: Audi E-Tron GT, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6
With this award, Hyundai/Kia made its mark on two major awards in 2022. The Kia EV6 was also named European Car of the Year in February.
