Design and ergonomics

Housing BQ-6061L Slim is made of matte plastic (very similar to metal) in black, blue, red or light blue. We got the classic black version.

The front panel is occupied by a display with small frames on the top and sides. Against their background, a medium-sized “chin” stands out.

The upper part of the front panel is occupied by a speaker and a drop-shaped cutout for the front camera.

The volume keys and the lock button are located on the right side of the case.

On the opposite side there is a tray for two SIMs and a microSD memory card.

A USB Type-C connector is placed in the middle of the bottom edge. To the left and right of it are the perforations of the multimedia speaker and the earpiece microphone.

Placed on top of the connector for wired 3.5 mm headphones.

The upper left corner of the back cover is occupied by a block of two cameras and an LED flash. A little lower in the middle is an island of a fingerprint scanner. It rises above the BQ brand logo.

At the very bottom is the name of the line – Slim.

Small by today’s standards, the diagonal allows you to use the phone with one hand. The case is moderately slippery, so there is not enough complete cover. The back cover is not pressed through, there are no squeaks and backlashes.

The smartphone is quite compact, which is confirmed by its dimensions of 156 x 74 x 8.5 mm and a small weight of 166 grams.

Screen and image

The IPS-matrix is responsible for transmitting the image to the user. With a diagonal of 6.088 inches and a resolution of 1560 x 720, the display maintains a comfortable pixel density of 282 ppi.

The picture is clear, without graininess. At sharp viewing angles, colors shift to warmer tones.

The maximum margin of brightness is enough to see the information on the display on a sunny day.

Performance

BQ-6061L Slim, like other state employees, is designed for users who need basic functionality: Internet access, instant messengers, social networks and YouTube. With these tasks, the 4-core MediaTek Helio A22 does an excellent job.

Running demanding games will not work. The reason for this lies in the low-power Cortex-A53 cores with a frequency of 2 GHz and only 2 GB of RAM. The situation is different with communication: support for 3G / LTE networks, dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 is implemented. The smartphone will cope with the role of a navigator, since it uses GPS and GLONASS navigation systems.

Cameras and photos

The BQ-6061L Slim main camera block is divided into two sensors: the main one with a resolution of 8 megapixels and the auxiliary one with 5 megapixels. The presence of an additional module does not make the pictures better: without proper lighting, the photos lose their clarity, noise and artifacts appear. In illuminated rooms or on the street, the situation becomes better and you can take a memorable shot.

Pictures on the 8 MP front camera are quite good, with an eye on the price segment of the smartphone. The lens is useful for both taking selfies and video calls.

Interface and Functions

Due to 2 GB of RAM, instead of a full-fledged OS, the manufacturer installed Android 11 Go Edition. The shell of the system is slightly changed, applications from partners are preinstalled in memory.

By the way, the smartphone provides only 16 GB of permanent memory, of which only 10 GB is available . The problem is solved by installing a memory card up to 128 GB.

Personal data is protected from strangers by a fingerprint scanner on the back cover and a face unlock function, for which the selfie camera is responsible. Both functions work quickly. NFC for contactless payment in the smartphone is not provided.

Autonomy and battery

The smartphone is able to work all day in mixed mode: the Internet, social networks, launching simple games. It takes about 4 hours to charge the 3500 mAh battery from the supplied power supply.

Summing up

For a small price, buyers of the BQ-6061L Slim get a compact body, modern design, the current Android 11 Go Edition and a decent camera in the budget segment. The only drawback is the amount of permanent memory in the amount of 16 GB, which is solved by installing a memory card.
