Redmi K50 Extreme Edition launched with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1
Today, the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi introduced its new flagship smartphone. This device is called Redmi K50 Extreme Edition, which boasts not only a striking design, but also top-end stuffing.
The smartphone is equipped with a flat 6.67-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels (446 PPI density). The resolution of the selfie module embedded in the screen is 20 MP (Sony IMX596). The display is protected from scratches and damage by durable Gorilla Glass Victus.
On the rear panel of the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition is a triple camera unit. It includes a 108-megapixel Samsung HM6 main sensor with optical image stabilization, an 8-megapixel sensor (wide-angle lens, 119° field of view) and a 2-megapixel macro lens.
Redmi K50 Extreme Edition is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 flagship chipset. To prevent overheating when starting games and “heavy” applications, advanced cooling is provided. The cooling system (total area 3725 mm²) includes an aerospace-grade copper foil and white graphene vapor chamber. Depending on the modification, the device can carry 8/12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128/256/512 GB of UFS 3.1 internal flash memory.
The Redmi K50 Extreme Edition is powered by a 5000mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging technology. It takes only 19 minutes to fully charge the battery.
Other equipment of the device includes stereo speakers with support for Dolby Atmos technology, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless modules, an NFC chip for contactless payments and a side fingerprint scanner. The smartphone is running MIUI 13 based on Android 12.
Redmi K50 Extreme Edition base version (8/128 GB) will cost $430, the 8/256 GB variant is priced at $490, the 12/256 GB modification is $533, the top version (12/512 GB) costs $593 .
The 12GB/512GB version of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 edition is priced at $632.
