Nokia will release a series of smartphones with HarmonyOS instead of Android
Last month, Chinese company Huawei unveiled HarmonyOS 2.0, its own operating system. Huawei positions it as a universal cross-platform for various devices – from smartphones and smartwatches to cars and refrigerators. Some manufacturers are already interested in Huawei’s alternative to Android. Among the first are Meizu and Midea. And now insiders say that the Finnish company HMD Global, which owns the famous Nokia brand, is also showing interest in HarmonyOS.
According to sources, HMD is preparing to release a new series of smartphones called Nokia X60. It will include at least two models: Nokia X60 and X60 Pro. And their main feature will be that they will not work on Android, like all other Nokia smartphones, but on HarmonyOS 2.0 from Huawei.
The Nokia X60 models are expected to have a curved display and a giant 6000 mAh battery. They will also sport a 200 megapixel main camera and several other high-end features. The exact technical characteristics are still unknown, as well as the cost of new products. As for the timing of the release of the Nokia X60 series, then its launch, according to insiders, will take place in August. The exact date is still unknown.
