The main way to use the iPhone hotspot is by creating a Wi-Fi network. You must know, in fact, that the famous Apple smartphone is able to “transform” into a sort of portable Wi-Fi router that will exploit the Internet connection of the SIM data plan (in this regard, I suggest you use it if you have many Giga a disposition). This way you can connect your PC to the Wi-Fi network created by your iPhone and go back to surfing with your PC.

To use iPhone as a Wi-Fi router it is necessary to act directly on the iPhone by enabling the necessary function. Therefore, unlock your iPhone and open the Settings app , recognizable by the icon of a gear. Make sure then that the data connection is active, so you tap on the item Mobile phone and make sure that the lever of the voice cell data is set to ON . After activating the data connection, tap on the arrow at the top left to go back and tap on Personal Hotspot .

To activate the personal hotspot and be able to use the iPhone as a router, set the lever relating to the item Allow others to access to ON . In addition, you can also customize the password to access the network by tapping on the Wi-Fi password item .

If you have a PC with Windows 10 , to connect to the new Wi-Fi network created by the iPhone, all you have to do is click on the Wi-Fi icon in the toolbar at the bottom right and click on the network called iPhone of XX in the list of networks that appears on the screen, and then enter the relative access key. If, on the other hand, you have a PC with Windows 11 , after clicking on the Wi-Fi icon , click again on the arrow next to the Wi-Fi switch from the menu that appears and choose the iPhone network among those available.

All you have to do is activate the Personal Hotspot function by following the instructions I gave you in the previous chapter and then connect the Lightning cable from your iPhone to your PC. In seconds your PC will connect to the Internet, just as if you were using an Ethernet cable directly from your router. Convenient, right?

You wanted to play online with your PS4 , but unfortunately you have noticed that your home internet network is not working and it seems that not even a restart of the modem has worked. While waiting for the operator to solve the problem, however, you would like to understand how to use iPhone as a router for PS4 .

First of all you will have to activate the Personal Hotspot function on your iPhone, to do this you can follow the instructions I gave you in the previous chapter . Once you have created the Wi-Fi connection from your iPhone you will need to connect via your PS4.

From the console, then access the Settings (recognizable by the icon of a suitcase) via the controller and go to the Network item . Now select the item Set Internet Connection , then choose Use Wi-Fi and finally select the Typical option . Now the console will show you all the Wi-Fi networks it has detected in the surrounding area, you select the one called iPhone of XX and enter the login password using the keyboard that appears on the screen (use the controller to select the letters or numbers). Once you have completed entering your password, select the Finish buttonand then the OK button .

In a few seconds the console will connect to the Wi-Fi network created by your iPhone and you can also use it to play online on PS4 . Be careful, however, because playing in online multiplayer mode will involve the use of many Giga than those available on the data plan of your SIM.
