How to update Among Us

You recently discovered Among Us , the hugely popular Innersloth game available for computers, mobile devices and Switch. Now that you are passionate about this title, you do not want to miss any news and you want to always be “on the track”. The problem, however, is that you don’t know how to update Among Us and, therefore, you are not sure if you are using the latest version of the title. How do you say? Are things exactly as I described them? Then you are in the right place to learn!

How to update Among Us on PC

Before explaining how to update Among Us on PC , you need to identify the platform on which you downloaded the application.

In fact, in case you are not aware of it, you must know that the version of Among Us for PC is available on both Steam and Epic Games and on both platforms it costs € 3.99 .

Alternatively, to play Among Us on PC for free , you can use an Android emulator, which allows you to emulate the Google home operating system on your computer and thus play the mobile version of the tutorial, which can be downloaded for free (you I talked about in my tutorial on how to download Among Us on PC ). Now, however, ban the chatter and let’s take action!

How to update Among Us on Steam

If you have installed Among Us via Steam , this is the procedure you need to follow to update the game.

As a rule, Valve’s popular game distribution platform updates all games in the user library automatically. Obviously, this setting can be changed, but you just need to know that Steam starts already by updating all the Steam games installed on your computer.

If, by any chance, you have changed this setting and Among Us no longer automatically updates when new versions are released, then you need to change this setting to its initial state.

To activate Steam automatic updates, you need to open the service client and click on the LIBRARY tab at the top. By doing so, you will be able to see all the games in your account.

Now that you have all your games in front of you, you need to search Among Us. When you have found it, right-click on its title and, in the menu that is proposed to you, click on the Properties item .

In the window that has just appeared, you have to click on the UPDATES tab . At this point, press on the box located under the heading AUTOMATIC UPDATES and select the option Always keep this game updated . That’s it: if there are any updates for Among Us, after activating this feature Steam will download them automatically.

At this point, to understand if Among Us has an update queued, just look at the name of the application. Usually, when a game on Steam needs to be updated, Update will appear in the queue next to its name .

To start the update, if it has not started automatically, you must press the DOWNLOAD button at the bottom of the Steam window. On the screen where you are brought, then, press on the arrow icon (on the right of Among Us), so that Steam can start downloading the update.

Alternatively, if you just can’t update Among Us, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling it . In case you were wondering, don’t worry – uninstalling a game won’t make it disappear from your library.

To uninstall it , you must again press on the LIBRARY tab and search Among Us among your games. Once found, right-click on it and from the menu that appears, go to Manage> Uninstall . In the window that is proposed to you, press again on the Uninstall option to complete the process.

Now, to install the game again, just select Among Us and press the INSTALL button under the name of the game. Click, then on the Next button and that’s it: when the process is finished, Among Us will be installed again on your PC in its latest version available.

How to update Among Us on Epic Games

In case you have a copy of Among Us downloaded through the Epic Games Store , you should know that, like on Steam, the platform updates the games in the users’ library automatically. If, therefore, Among Us does not automatically update when new content is available to download, it means that this setting is disabled.

To reactivate automatic updates on Epic Games, you need to open the application and press the Settings button , at the bottom left. In the window that appears, scroll down until you find the MANAGE GAMES tab . Below it, you will find the Allow automatic updates option , which you must activate by clicking on the box to its left.

Scrolling even further below, look for the AMONG US tab and open it. Here too, you need to turn on the Auto Update Among Us option .

Another thing you can do is turn on automatic updates for Among Us from the library . To do this, press the Library button located at the top left and locate Among Us . When you have found it, click on the three dots icon and from the menu that is proposed to you, activate the Automatic update option .

If you have followed all of my instructions and there are new updates available for Among Us, you will be able to see that Epic Games will notify you of an update to be made for the game, under the Downloads tab .

In case Among Us still doesn’t update, you can resort to uninstalling the game . Again, as with Steam, keep in mind that uninstalling a game on Epic Games won’t make it disappear from the library.

To uninstall Among Us , you have to click on Library and then, under the game icon, you have to click on the three dots icon . From the menu that is proposed to you, select the Uninstall option . Finally, from the window that appears, press the Uninstall button again .

To install Among Us again , simply click on the game icon and then, from the window that opens, click on the Install button .

How to update Among Us on BlueStacks

If you have opted for the emulation of the mobile version of Among Us on PC and therefore want to know how to update Among Us on BlueStacks , this is the section of the tutorial that suits you best.

Before we start with the explanation, however, you need to know that BlueStacks works almost exactly like an Android device and, as such, should update applications automatically. If not, it means that you have to activate the option manually.

To turn on automatic updates, you need to go to BlueStacks and then open the Play Store . At this point, press on the icon of the three horizontal lines and select the Settings item from the menu that opens.

In the screen that has opened, press on the item Automatic app update and select, according to your preferences, the option Only via Wi-Fi or On any network (in the emulator, this setting is irrelevant, the network will be used anyway. the PC is connected to). By doing so, all applications on BlueStacks, from here on, will update automatically.

If you want to update Among Us manually , you need to go to the Play Store again . From here, in the search bar, you have to type Among Us and then hit Enter . At this point, if updates are available, to the right of the Among Us icon, in the search results list, you will see the Update button , which you will need to press to start the update.

If none of the methods I recommended work, then as a last resort I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling Among Us .

To uninstall Among Us , you have to press on the Home tab of BlueStacks, top left, and then you have to click on the My Games window . At this point, hover the mouse cursor over Among Us , click on the three dots icon that appears in the corner of the application icon, and, from the menu that is proposed to you , click on Uninstall . Finally, in the screen that opens, click on the Delete button .

To reinstall Among Us , open the Play Store and, in the search bar, type Among Us , then press Enter . Then press the Install button located to the right of Among Us in the search results. Once the process is finished, you will have Among Us on BlueStacks installed with the latest update available.

How to update Among Us on smartphones and tablets

As you already know, Among Us is also available for all mobile devices . Also, as I mentioned in previous chapters of this article, the mobile version of Among Us, unlike the PC version, is free (with some ads).

Another essential difference between the two versions is that the one on PC includes all the costumes available in the game. The mobile version, on the other hand, does not introduce any advantages, if not the basic costumes. To have the costumes on your smartphone or tablet, you have to buy them through in-app purchases.

How to update Among Us on Android

If you want to know how to update Among Us on Android , you can follow the previous chapter on BlueStacks , as the software is an Android emulator and therefore the process is exactly the same.

In case you still fail to update Among Us, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

To uninstall Among Us , then, hold down the game icon and select the Uninstall item from the menu that opens. Alternatively, depending on the launcher you use, you may need to drag the game icon to the Uninstall button or the trash can icon . As another option, you can uninstall the game by going to the Settings> Apps> Among Us menu and selecting the appropriate item from the menu that opens. More info here .

Now that you have to install Among Us again , you have to open the Play Store , type Among Us in the search bar and then press on the magnifying glass icon . At this point, click on the Install button for the game. Once the process is finished, you will have Among Us updated to the latest version on your mobile device. More info here .

How to update Among Us on iPhone

If you need to know how to update Among Us on iPhone and iPad , then know that, again, you are reading the right section of the tutorial.

Before proceeding with the explanation, however, keep in mind that, like all the platforms mentioned in this guide, the iPhone App Store, as a rule, updates applications automatically. In case this is not the case for your device, it means that you have to manually activate the setting to do so.

To activate automatic updates on the App Store, therefore, first you need to open the iOS Settings application (the gear icon on the Home screen or in the App Library). On the screen where you are brought, you have to press on the iTunes Store and App Store item . Finally, locate the App Updates tab , and, to its right, press the lever to activate the setting.

Now that you have automatic updates turned on, Among Us will always automatically update to the latest version.

If you don’t want to wait and want to manually update Among Us , first you need to open the App Store . From here, hit the Search tab (bottom right), type Among Us, and then hit the Search button again . At this point, if there are any updates available for you to download for the game, you will see the REFRESH button to the right of the Among Us icon. More info here .

Again, if you still can’t update Among Us, I can only recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the game .

To uninstall Among Us , you have to make a long tap on the game icon and select the items Remove app and Delete app from the menu that is proposed to you. More info here .

Now that you have uninstalled the game, you need to reinstall Among Us . You can do this by opening the App Store and pressing on the Search tab . From here, you need to type Among Us and hit the Search button again .

Now you should be in front of Among Us: to install it, then, simply press the GET button , and, immediately after, press the INSTALL button . To begin the installation, confirm the action via Face ID, Touch ID, or by typing your iCloud account password. More info here .

Once the download is finished, you will finally have Among Us on your iPhone updated to the latest version. That’s all! Easy, right?

How to update Among Us on Switch

If you have Nintendo Switch , Among Us should update automatically like all other software installed on the console. When an update is released, trying to start the game, you should therefore be notified of this and you should be able to install the update with the push of a button.

If this is not the case, activate the automatic update for the software installed on the Switch by turning on at least the console settings (the gear icon you see in the main menu), selecting the System item from the left sidebar and by setting the Automatic software update option to Yes (you can find it by scrolling through the menu that is proposed to you). Easy, right?
