How to share location on WhatsApp?

The easiest way to send your location is to do it through your usual messenger for communication. To share your location in real time, you need to:

  1. Open a chat with the desired contact in WhatsApp.
  2. Click on the paperclip icon.
  3. Select “Location”.
  4. Allow the app to access geodata (if it hasn’t already been granted).
  5. Click “Send your location” to send static data – where the user is at the moment.

To send a location that will change over time, you must click “Share Location Data”, select a period of time and click “Submit”. Now, during this time, a change in the user’s location will also be seen by the contact who was given access to geodata.

How to share location in Telegram?

In the Telegram messenger, the scheme for sending your location is similar to WhatsApp:

  1. Select a chat with the person to whom he wants to send his data.
  2. Click on the paperclip icon.
  3. Select “Geolocation”.
  4. Click on the “Submit your location” action.

This instruction will allow you to give the contact access to static location data, they will not change over time. To enable someone to track where the user is going, you need to do the following:

  1. Click on the sent message with the location.
  2. Click on the three dots in the corner of the screen.
  3. Select Broadcast My Location.
  4. Set the time during which the interlocutor will be able to monitor the location of the user in real time.

How to share location in 2GIS?

To share your location via the 2GIS mobile app, you need to:

  1. Click on the point where the user is currently located (arrow in the blue circle).
  2. At the bottom of the list of actions, select the “Share” item.
  3. Choose the appropriate data transfer method: instant messenger, social networks, SMS, etc.

The contact will be able to open this data through their 2GIS application or through a mobile browser.

How to share location through Google Maps?

Google Navigation also lets you share your location:

  1. Open the Google Maps app on your phone and tap on the blue icon for your location.
  2. Select the “Share location” action.
  3. Specify the time for which the user wants to give access to his data or select the item “Until I turn it off”, i.e. the data will be available permanently until the user himself prohibits sending it.
  4. Select the desired contact – you can send data to other Google users, contacts in your phone book, using instant messengers, SMS and other methods.

Important! You can share data with several people at once, for this you need to alternately click on the icons of their profiles. The selected contacts will receive a link to track the user’s location and see their name and profile photo.
