Share your Instagram story

Have you posted a story on Instagram and now would like to show it to your other friends, but you don’t know how to do it? Don’t worry, I can explain in detail how to proceed, using the Instagram app for Android (also downloadable from alternative stores ) and iOS . Unfortunately, at the moment it is not possible to act as a PC.

How to share a story on Instagram

I start this tutorial on how to share a story on Instagram by explaining how to send other users a story published by you within the well-known photographic social network.

To start, then, start the Instagram app previously installed on your device and log in with your account data, if access is not already automatic.

Then press on the icon with the symbol of a little man (or on the thumbnail of your profile ) located in the bottom bar of the social network, in order to see the section related to your profile.

Now, press on your profile picture to view the latest published stories, locate the one you want to share and press the More button first and then the Send to item .

At this point, select the user to whom you want to send the story, by pressing on his name among those that are shown to you, or by searching for his name in the search engine visible on the screen. Then, if you want, use the text field Write a message to type an accompanying message and press the Send item .

Do you still have to make a story and want to make sure that the content you post in this section is always shareable by other users? No problem. Go to the social network home screen (accessible via the house symbol ) and swipe from left to right to open the story creation tool .

Now, tap on the icon with a gear symbol located in the upper left corner, so you can see the menu called Camera Settings . Once this is done, press on the Story item , then move the lever from OFF to ON in correspondence with the wording Allow sharing in messages , in order to give other users the possibility to share your story.

Then go back to the previous screen and start making a story with the tools at your disposal. At this point, click on the Send to button that you see in the lower right corner and click on the Share button next to the heading Your story , to share the story with all your followers.

Alternatively, if you have customized the list of Close Friends , click on the Share button next to it, to send the story only to a small group of users.

Do you want to share the story with a specific user? You can also do this: search for his name using the appropriate search engine (if it does not appear in the Suggested list ) and press on the Send item , corresponding to his name.

Share Instagram story on Facebook

If what you intend to do is share an Instagram story on Facebook , you will be happy to know that this option is possible and that it is a procedure that can be performed in a few simple steps.

To do this, start the Instagram app , then go to the section of your profile, pressing on the symbol of a little man (or on the thumbnail of your profile ) in the bottom bar of the social network.

Then press the symbol (☰) and go to the section Settings> Accounts> Sharing on other apps> Facebook . On the next screen, log in to the social network with the data of the account you want to connect (you can connect a profile or a Facebook page ) and press the Continue and Yes, complete the configuration buttons .

Finally, press on the item Start sharing on Facebook , so that the levers relating to the automatic sharing of your story and your posts are set to ON . This way, all subsequent content you post on Instagram in Stories will automatically be shared on Facebook .

Eventually, once you have made this connection, you can intervene manually to retroactively share, in the Facebook stories , even the previous contents published in the Instagram stories (and still active in the stories of the photographic social network).

To do this, click on your profile picture , to view the latest published stories, then click on the button with the Facebook symbol and that’s it.

How to share a photo on Instagram story

Through the Instagram app, you can easily share a post in the stories of the photo social network.

To do this, launch the Instagram app and log into your account (if necessary). Once this is done, go to your profile section and tap on the post you want to share. Then press on the airplane icon and, in the menu that is shown to you, tap on the Add post to your story button .

Now, customize, if you wish, the story to be published, by adding, for example, texts (the Aa key ) or stickers (the square face icon ). Finally, when you’re ready, publish the story by pressing the Your Story button .

How to share a story on Instagram where you’ve been tagged

Did they mention you in a story and would you like to share it with your followers too? Nothing simpler, I’ll explain how to do it.

To do this, go to the private messages section of Instagram (the airplane icon ) and locate the received story in which you have been tagged. Once this is done, click on the Add to story button and finally, to publish it in your stories, click on the Your Story button .

How to share an old story on Instagram

If you’ve turned on the Stories Archive setting , you can re-share a previously posted story on Instagram.

To do this, tap on the menu icon at the top right of your Instagram profile screen, then press on the Archive item . Once this is done, in the Stories Archive section , locate the story you have published and tap the Share button .

Finally, to publish it again, press the button Your story .

Share someone else’s Instagram story

While you were browsing Instagram, did you see the story posted by another user and would you like to share it? No problem, it’s very easy and you can do it directly through the social network app for Android and iOS .

Once you have identified the Instagram story you are interested in sharing, press on the icon with the airplane symbol in the lower right corner, then in the Share menu that you see on the screen, locate the person with whom you want to share the photo or video selected, put the check mark on his name and, finally, press the Send button to share it.

If this option is not present, it means that the user in question does not allow the sharing of his stories . It is in fact an option that, as I explained to you , must be activated through the Settings menu of the Instagram camera .

If, on the other hand, you wonder how to share a story on Instagram as a story, you must know that it is not possible to do it natively. In this specific case, in fact, you can only make the screenshot or the recording of the screen , in such a way as to obtain the content in question, in order to be able to republish it, once you have obtained the consent of the owner (please, do not repost content without permission !).

App to share an Instagram story

An alternative method to share a story of others on Instagram is the use of some apps designed to allow the saving of other people’s content ( stories and posts ), in order to repost , that is, re-sharing.

However, I point out that the use of these solutions is generally not recommended, as these apps usually require you to log in to your account, and since these are unofficial solutions, this could expose it to risks of compromising privacy.

In any case, if you intend to use it anyway, I suggest you use apps such as Save stories for Android (also downloadable from alternative stores ) or Storized for iOS / iPadOS , which, through a search engine , allow you to search for a user’s profile. to view their stories, in order to save a photo or video in the memory of your device. By doing so, in fact, the downloaded content can then be republished.
