How to make a playlist in iTunes – iPhone, Mac, Android and PC
Surely you already know and if not, we will tell you: now you can create playlists with music from the Apple Music catalog or your collection and share them with your friends thanks to iTunes.
That’s why, in the following lines, we want to show you what are the steps you need to follow to create playlists on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, on Mac or PC or on an Android device.
Create an iTunes playlist on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
So let’s start with the most common case in this type of occasion, which concerns the creation of an iTunes playlist on iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, for which it is necessary to follow these steps :
- First of all, in the Music app of these devices, find the song you want the playlist to start with
- When you’ve found it, long press or use 3D Touch
- Select the Add to List option and then New List. You can add the desired name to the list. Even a description, cover image, etc.
- After completing the above steps, you can also add more songs from your Apple Music library or catalog. Whenever you find one you want to add, click Add to a playlist
- At the end you have to press OK to indicate that you are done
Something you should keep in mind in these types of cases is that the songs you add to your playlists aren’t automatically included in the Library. If you want it to change, you need to change it from the Application Settings.
Create an iTunes playlist on Mac or PC
The steps you need to follow in the case of computers with Mac OS X or Windows operating system are more or less similar:
- In iTunes, find the song you want the playlist to start with
- Place the pointer over it and click on the three blue dots horizontally by selecting Add to Playlist, New List
- At that moment you have to click on the name, cover image or any other feature of the song you want to change in terms of the information it offers
- Then you need to click the More button and then click Add Description if you want to add custom text
- At the end of the previous steps, remember that you can always add more songs to your playlist by searching through the contents that are part of your Apple Music Library. To add it you have to click on the three horizontal dots that appear at that moment, selecting the Add to playlist option
Keep in mind, as we said before, that by default the songs you add to the playlist are not automatically added to the Library, but in these cases you must always change the settings.
Create an iTunes playlist on Android
Finally, in Android mobile devices we have the possibility to perform the same step by step relatively easily thanks to the Apple Music app, following these steps that we will tell you:
- In Apple Music, find the song you want the playlist to start with
- To add it, go to Add to a List, New List
- Remember that you can edit all the information details that appear on each song
- You can also add anyone who is part of the Apple Music Library from Add Music
As in the previous cases, the songs you add to your playlists are not automatically included in the Library, so if you are interested in this you will have to change the Settings.
