I already anticipate that, contrary to what you may think, you will not have to do anything particularly complicated. You can also proceed not only from the Instagram app for smartphones, but also from the web version of the service for computers or its application for Windows 10.

How to insert special characters on Instagram on Android
Do you want to find out how to insert special characters on Instagram acting from Android? So the first step you need to take is to take your smartphone, unlock, access the home screen and/or the drawer and select the ‘ icon of’ app Instagram.
Now that you see the main Instagram screen, log into your account (if required) and go to the section of the app where you intend to type the special characters.
To give practical examples, if you want to insert special characters in a direct message, tap on the icon in the shape of a paper airplane at the top right, type the name of the user you want to write to and select the relevant suggestion; if, on the other hand, you want to enter special characters as a caption for a new post, press the (+) button at the bottom, select or create the content to post, perform any editing operations and fill in the Write a caption field.
Next, select the text field in which you want to enter special characters, in order to bring up the Android keyboard on the screen. Then, tap on the? 123 button that you find in the lower-left corner and you should thus see some special characters: to view others, press the = \ button that you can always find at the bottom left and select the special characters of your interest.
Please also note that by pressing for a few moments on the buttons of some letters and some symbols, you can enter accented letters and other characters that do not appear in the standard keypad. After completing the above steps, proceed with publishing the post, comment etc. as you usually do.
In addition to how I explained to you a moment ago, you can insert special characters on Instagram by using special third-party apps, as in the case of Type Droid (also available on alternative stores ), which is free and collects in one single screen all the special characters, allowing you to copy them to the Android clipboard with a tap, and then paste them where appropriate.
How to insert special characters on Instagram on iPhone
Do you own an iPhone and would like to understand how to insert special characters on Instagram in that case? I’ll tell you how to do it right away. First, grab your smartphone, sbloccalo, go to the home screen and/or the Library App and select the ‘ icon of’ app Instagram.
Now that you see the main screen of the application, log in to your account (if necessary) and go to the section where you intend to type the special characters.
To give some practical examples, if you want to insert special characters as a comment to someone else’s post, locate the latter in the feed and tap on the cartoon icon that you find under the photo or video of your interest, while if you want use the special characters as a caption for a new post, press the (+) button at the bottom, select or create the content to post, make any changes to the latter and touch the Write a caption field.
Subsequently, select the text field in which you want to write and once the iOS keyboard is displayed on the screen, touch the 123 button located at the bottom left, in order to recall the section of the same containing numbers, punctuation and special characters.
Then press on some of the special characters you see on the screen if you want to type one of them. To view others, however, tap on the # + = button located at the bottom left and then on the symbol of your interest. By keeping your finger pressed for a few seconds on the buttons of some letters and symbols, you can also add accented letters and other hidden characters.
After entering the special characters, go ahead and publish the post, comment, etc. just like you usually do when using Instagram on iPhone. It was easy, wasn’t it?
Also as regards iOS, keep in mind that there are third-party apps through which you can copy and paste some special characters. Among the various available, I suggest Symbol Keyboard, which collects in a single screen all the symbols available on iOS (together with some emojis), allows you to copy them to the clipboard and paste them where necessary.
How to insert special characters on Instagram on computer
To conclude, it seems only right to tell you how to insert special characters on Instagram from a PC, acting from the Web version of the service or from its application for Windows 10.
Therefore, log into your account (if necessary) and reach the section of Instagram where you want to type the special characters. To give some practical examples, if you want to enter special characters as a comment to another user’s post, locate the latter in the feed and click on the cartoon icon that you find under the photo or video of your interest; to send, instead, the special characters in a private message, click on the icon in the shape of a paper airplane at the top right, then click on the Send message button and type, in the appropriate field, the name of the person you want to write.
Then, click on the text field in which you want to write and call up the character map: to do this on Windows, click on the Start button (the flag icon located in the lower-left corner of the screen ), type charmap in the menu search field that appears and select the relevant link from the search results. Alternatively, call up the Run window, using the Win + R key combination, type the command charmap in the appropriate field and press the Enter button on the keyboard.
In the Character Map window that opens, select the special character of your interest (you can help you find it by selecting the font from the drop-down menu at the top and/or by checking the Advanced view box at the bottom), by double-clicking on it, and paste it into the window Instagram, making right-clicking and selecting Paste from the menu that pops up, or by using the key combination Ctrl + V.
In addition to as I have just indicated to you, I inform you that you can find some special characters on the virtual keyboard of Windows 10. To call it up, right-click on the taskbar and select the Show virtual keyboard button option from the menu that opens. Now, click on the keyboard icon that appears next to the system clock, click on the Fn button located at the bottom left of the virtual keyboard, then on the Ω one you see appear next to it and browse the list of available symbols using the special scrolling.
If you are using macOS, on the other hand, to recall the character map, click on the Edit menu located in the upper left part of the screen, then select the item Emoji and symbols from the menu that appears. Alternatively, you can use the key combination cmd + ctrl + space.
In the Character Viewer window opens, then select the symbols to use and double-click on them to type the special characters on Instagram. If necessary, you can help you find special characters by selecting the categories of your interest from the left side of the character map window and/or using the search field at the top right.
Alternatively, you can find some special characters on the macOS virtual keyboard as well. To call it up, click on the System Preferences icon (the one in the shape of a gear wheel ) found on the Dock bar, select the Keyboard item in the window that opens, then the Input Sources tab and check the Show Keyboard menu box in the menu bar. Then, click on the icon with the symbol ⌘ in the window appeared at the top right, click on the button ⌥ located at the bottom of the virtual keyboard and press the button corresponding to the symbol to be entered.
Once you’ve managed to enter the special characters on Instagram, go ahead and post your comment, direct message, etc. as you usually do when using the famous social network on your computer.
