How to download Hello Neighbor

It is not easy to propose innovative titles in the field of horror video games, but tinyBuild with its Hello Neighbor seems to have succeeded in the enterprise. Hello Neighbor, in fact, is a stealth horror title in which the player, operating with a first-person view, must sneak into the house of his creepy neighbor to find out what secrets he hides in the basement.

The title is innovative for its cartoonish graphic style, which is clearly in contrast with the horror-tinged plot, and for the artificial intelligence of the enemy – the creepy neighbor – who learns from every move of the player and implements counter moves to always put him more in trouble. For example, if the player tries to enter through a window, he may find a toothed trap waiting for him; if he tries to escape by following a certain path, he can expect the neighbor to take a shortcut to reach him faster, and so on.

Download Hello Neighbor on PC

If you want to download Hello Neighbor on your PC but you are not sure how to proceed and / or you are afraid that the game’s requirements are too high for your computer’s capabilities, don’t worry: keep reading and you will have the answers to all your doubts.

Minimum requirements

First, let’s see what the minimum requirements are to play Hello Neighbor . If your computer does not have hardware components capable of satisfying the demands of the game and / or is equipped with a version of Windows older than those officially supported by Hello Neighbor, desist from your intent: you would find yourself unable to run the game or, in any case, in front of a graphically “castrated” title, with continuous lag, freeze and crash.

All clear? Well, then here is the complete list of hardware and software specs needed to successfully run Hello Neighbor.

At the moment the game is not compatible with either macOS or Linux and there is no transposition for these platforms.

Download and install Steam

Whether you want to download the trial version of Hello Neighbor or buy the full version of the game, you need to contact Steam: the famous digital distribution service for games from Valve. Using Steam is really a breeze, but to do so you need to download a special client on your PC.

Then connected to  the Steam website , click on the Install Steam button   located at the top right and, on the page that opens, press the Install Steam now button   to start the client download.

When the download is complete, open the Steam installation package ( SteamSetup.exe ) by double clicking on it and, in the window that opens, first press the Yes button  and then  click  Next . Then put the check mark next to the item  I accept the license agreement (to accept the terms of use of Steam), click on  Next  twice consecutively (make sure to select the Italian language) and press the Install  and Finish buttons  to conclude the setup.

At the end of the setup, the download of all the files necessary for the correct functioning of Steam will start automatically: it is over 100MB of data, so be patient, it could take several minutes.

Once the download is finished, you need to create an account to access the Steam library and purchase / download your favorite games (in this case Hello Neighbor). Then click on the  Create a new account button and fill out the form that is proposed to you by typing, in the appropriate fields, the username and password you want to use on Steam plus your  email address .

Then copy the security code in the field Enter the characters above , put the check mark next to the item I accept, and I declare that I am at least 13 years old to declare that I am at least 13 years old and click on the Continue button to complete the process of d ‘ subscription to the platform.

Now you have to verify your identity: then access your inbox, click on the Create my account button contained in the email you received from Steam and, on the page that opens, click on  Continue and log in to your Steam account.

Free trial

You are now officially ready to download Hello Neighbor on your PC! If you want to try the demo version of the game before buying the full one, do this: go to the Steam Store tab (top left), type Hello Neighbor in the search field located at the top right and press the Enter key on the keyboard of the your PC.

In the screen that opens, click on the Hello Neighbor Demo item , press the Download demo button in the right sidebar (you have to scroll the page down to see it) and, through the window that appears on the screen, choose whether to create a shortcut to the game on the desktop and / or in the Start menu . Then click on the Next and Finish buttons and wait patiently for the download of the demo to be completed.

If you want, you can follow the download progress by moving the mouse cursor on the Steam Library tab (top center) and selecting the Download item from the menu that appears.

When the download is complete, to start the Hello Neighbor demo, go to the Steam Library tab (top center), select Hello Neighbor Demo from the left sidebar and press the Play button .

Full game

After trying the Hello Neighbor demo, are you convinced to buy the full version of the title? No problem, you can always find it on Steam.

To proceed with the purchase, then start the Steam client on your PC, select the Shop tab located at the top left and search for Hello Neighbor in the bar located at the top right.

Next, click on the title of Hello Neighbor in the search results, press the Add to Cart button located under the game preview video and choose the Purchase for me option from the screen that opens.

After this step too, select a payment method from the appropriate drop-down menu (you can choose between  PayPal ,  credit card ,  Skrill  and  Paysafecard ), enter the data relating to the latter in the form that is proposed to you and press the Continue button   to proceed with the purchase.

Once the purchase is complete, go to the Steam Library , select Hello Neighbor from the left sidebar and start the download and installation of the game by pressing the Install button . At the end of the download (which you can follow by placing the mouse cursor on the Library tab and selecting the Download item from the menu that appears), go back to the Steam Library , select Hello Neighbor from the left sidebar and start the game by pressing the Play button .

As already mentioned at the opening of the post, Hello Neighbor is also available on consoles, more precisely on Xbox One , where it can be purchased and downloaded through the Microsoft store. The procedure to follow for downloading the game is the standard one for all titles available in digital format on Xbox One.

• Connect the Xbox to the Internet– if you haven’t already done so, connect your Xbox to the Internet using an Ethernet cable (connecting the console directly to the router) or a Wi-Fi network. In the latter case, to configure the connection you have to press the Xbox button on the controller, go to the Settings menu > All settings> Network> Xbox One network settings and select the Configure wireless network item from the left sidebar. If you have any doubts or problems, check out the Xbox official site .
• Sign in to your Microsoft account– once connected to the internet, you need to link your profile to a Microsoft account (and therefore to a basic Xbox Live account). To do this, select the Sign in box on the Xbox home screen, log in with your Microsoft account information and follow the onscreen instructions. If you don’t have a Microsoft account yet, create it by following the directions in my tutorial on the subject . If you have any further questions or problems, please check the Xbox official site .
• Download Hello Neighbor– the last step you need to take is to access the Xbox One Store by selecting the appropriate box located in the console’s home menu, press the search button and search for Hello Neighbor . After searching, select the game title ( here is the direct link, if you need it), press the purchase button and confirm the transaction by entering a valid payment method (if you have not already done so previously).

At the end of the download you will find Hello Neighbor in the list of games available on your Xbox One and you can play it at any time by simply selecting its cover image. Happy?
