How to choose a stationary blender

A stationary blender is essential in the kitchen for every housewife who loves to cook and pamper her family with delicious dishes. Indispensable in situations where other kitchen appliances cannot cope. With it, you can quickly mix foods into a homogeneous mass, knead dough, chop frozen fruits, whip cream, make homemade mayonnaise or a cocktail. You just need to lay the ingredients, and then turn on the desired speed.

Equipment

The device consists of the following parts:

  1. housings with built-in electric motor;
  2. glass or plastic bowl;
  3. metal knives located at the bottom;
  4. a lid that covers the container;
  5. power cord.

How to choose

Pay attention to the following characteristics:

Power

Indicators range from 180 to 2200 watts. The higher the power, the more possibilities. The service life of low-power ones is shorter, since the electric motors cannot withstand heavy loads. Some modern models reach 450-800 watts. This is enough to solve basic everyday tasks.

If you plan to regularly crush ice or frozen fruit, use machines with a power of at least 600 watts. From 1000 W in the household, they are almost never used, since they are expensive, and the potential is not in demand. For dough preparation, 1000-1200 W is enough.

In case of overheating, the temperature sensor signal is triggered and an automatic disconnection from the network occurs.

Bowl material

Containers are made of food grade plastic or glass. Less common are metal and composite.

Plastic ones are light in weight and low in cost. They are brittle material, become covered with scratches over time, absorb odors, and have a limited service life. Change color if dyes are mixed. Do not whisk hot foods into them.

Glass is the best option, despite its weight and high price. Able to serve forever if handled with care. It can burst when the temperature of the loaded content changes abruptly.

Metallic forms belong to the upper segment, but are less popular as they are opaque. Composite is too expensive, and in case of damage it is very difficult to find a replacement.

Volume

The permissible number of one-time loading depends on the size. For a large family, it is unlikely that it will be possible to cook cream soup in a liter jug. Some manufacturers recommend the minimum required level of workload. If you lay less than the specified, then the device will not be able to grind efficiently.

For convenient pouring, in some species there is a spout, a graduated scale in milliliters, a lid with a hole. In which, in the process of work, products are added and tamped with a pusher.

Frame

Made of metal or plastic. Iron is more expensive, but with the reliability and strength of the plastic, the difference between them is imperceptible.

How many speeds do you need?

These functions determine how well and quickly the knives will cope with chopping. The number varies from one to twenty. In practice, however, no more than five are required. A larger quantity only increases the price.

Additional modes

The device can have two additional modes:

  1. Turbo – works at the highest revs it can handle. Used at the end of mixing to obtain a uniform consistency.
  2. Impulse – the intensity of actions is automatically changed by the program. Due to this, engine overheating is excluded.

Control types

Mechanical – the engine is switched on and off manually.

In the electronic version, touch control is shown on the display. A program is set according to which operations are performed in stages. It remains only to observe how the given recipe is prepared.

Self-cleaning

Almost all modern stationary devices have this function. To activate it, pour warm water, add a drop of detergent and press the button.
