Diagnostics Policy Service is not running error in Windows 10
Sometimes the network connection does not work on your Windows 10 computer. You are probably fixing the problem with Network Diagnostics. Unfortunately, you see the “Diagnostics Policy Service is not running” error before you discover the problem. For many users, the Diagnostic Service does not start, this article describes how to fix the problem.
What this service is used for
Diagnostics is a Windows OS program that detects and fixes problems automatically.
Correction options
- Check if the service is running.
- Grant administrator rights to the local service.
- Reinstall all network adapters.
Check the status in the services window
- Click VIN and R (at the same time) to bring up the command line.
- Write services.msc and click OK.
- Find the Diagnostic Policy Service.
- Select “Start”, if “Start”, click “Restart”.
- Open Properties.
- Select Automatic for Startup Type. Then Apply> OK.
- Run Network Diagnostics.
Grant administrator rights to the service
- Type cmd into the search box from the Start menu.
- Command line or cmd.exe
- Type the following commands and hit Enter after each one:
net localgroup Administrators / add networkservice net localgroup Administrators / add localservice You should see the command completed successfully.
- Close the command prompt window.
Reinstall network adapters
- Win + R (simultaneously).
- Enter devmgmt.msc.
- Double click “Network Adapters”.
- Select “Remove device”.
- Click Action> Scan Hardware Changes.
- Microsoft then has to restart the driver itself.
- Run Network Diagnostics, if it keeps showing error then install latest driver.
Update the driver manually by going to the motherboard or device developer website to find the latest version. Be sure to select the driver that is compatible with your version of Windows.
Note: if you do not have internet access on your computer, download the file from another work PC and save it to a USB drive. Then install firewood on your PC using this flash drive.
