After the release of the Windows 10 May 2021 Update (21H1), there were complaints in the forums that the operating system itself was removing uTorrent. As it became known, in the next update, Microsoft Defender began to perceive the torrent client as malicious software and, accordingly, removed it.

In addition, now the built-in antivirus prevents the reinstallation of the torrent client. For some reason, Microsoft Defender began to consider uTorrent as malicious. At the same time, the operating system does not consider other similar applications to be malicious and does not interfere with their installation and use.

But, there is an opportunity to return uTorrent to PC. This problem can be resolved by configuring the Virus and threat protection section in the Settings application of the operating system. And, of course, you can completely abandon Microsoft Defender, or prohibit the OS from installing the 21H1 update altogether, or until the problem is resolved by the company.
