The error is more commonly known as “Blue Screen of Death BSOD” or “Unexpected I / O Error”. Not a very common problem, but more and more 10 users are faced with it. The problem appears during the installation of an update using Windows. Most often it looks like a boot screen with a black background and the message: “File: BootBCD”, below “Status: 0xc00000e9”.
The main causes of occurrence
- Improper disconnection of removable storage device connection (USB storage, external hard drive);
- Defective device (CD-ROM, hard drive);
- Hard disk problems (this includes “bad blocks”, lack of contact between the hard and the motherboard, damaged system files) is the most common option, given that you have not used external connections.

Reinstall Boot Manager
- Go to site Microsoft and download the ISO file (any will do, our goal is to create the installation media).
Note: Use torrent builds with caution.
- Prepare a USB stick with at least 4 GB of free space. A recovery disc is suitable for this purpose (if you have one, use it).
- Connect your USB device or disk -> turn on your PC.
- Depending on your BIOS, set the settings to start from an external drive.
- Set language date time if required.

cd / d Partition: WindowsSystem32 bcdedit / enum all bcdedit -create -d “Description” bcdedit -set device partition = Partition: bcdedit / displayorder bcdedit / default bcdedit / timeout Value
- Reboot your PC.
Performing recovery

- Press any button to boot from your media.
- If the automatic start does not occur, interrupt the standard start at reboot, as a rule it is easy to do this by pressing F2 F10 Esc Del.
