How to fix Minecraft crash / crash on Windows 7, 8, 10

One of the most common problems is crash. Many users complain about crashes right after launch.

The problem has many reasons (software errors, windows CO errors, low-quality mods, poor pirate build) and in this article we have collected the most common solutions to it. A nice bonus at the end of the article will be links to a tutorial on Minecraft mods.

What to do when Minecraft crashes?

Here are some simple and safe methods to fix your game. Update windows. Some OS files may conflict with the latest version of the game. Let’s get started.

  • Start.
  • Execute.
  • In the window we drive in – “services.msc”.
  • In the window that opens, at the very bottom, we are looking for a central center. We look at the screenshot.
  • We press RMB to turn on automatic or simply select “update”.

… Update the game. If there are glitches, Minecraft will not do it on its own.

  • Open your module to run -> “create a profile” -> “use the new version”. We are waiting, we are playing.
  • For “pirates” in the launch window, put a tick on “Force Update” -> start the game.

Rollback. If you have Windows auto-update, and the game started to crash recently, it’s time to do the exact opposite of point 1.

  • Delete the last downloaded files. Go to Settings -> Updates and Security -> Windows Update -> Update History. Find the last one installed (by sorting by date), uninstall it and restart your computer.

… Use SFC scan. Now let’s see if there are system errors or damaged components that are causing the problem. The easiest way is SFC scan. Just follow the algorithm below.

  • Open “Search”.
  • Enter “cmd”.
  • Right click on Command Prompt and select “open as administrator”.
  • Enter the command “sfc / scannow” and press Enter.
  • Wait for the process to complete and restart your computer.

Reset winstock:

  • Hold down the Windows + X keys.
  • Select Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
  • Enter: “netsh winsock reset”.
  •  Close Command Prompt and restart your computer.

Note: This solution fixes IP configuration issues, but be aware that if you have a static IP address, you will have to set it again.

If the previous commands didn’t work, try these:

  • ipconfig / release
  • ipconfig / flushdns
  • ipconfig / renew

Removing suspicious mods. Since Minecraft mods are so popular, make sure they don’t do damage. If there are any problematic mods, the logical solution would be to remove them. Bonus video:
