We have collected the most common errors that occur when installing or launching Kingdom Come: Deliverance. All the described solutions were suggested by users on different forums based directly on their personal experience of eliminating them.
ERROR: Unsupported processor detected. The processor must support SSE, SSE2, SSE3
This is an engine error, i.e. your processor is not detected. Often, owners of PCs with outdated hardware encounter this problem by installing or running various applications or modern computer games. This error enters many into a stupor – after all, Windows is working properly, but the program gives the game “ERROR”. Some forum users advise looking at the settings on the processor in the BIOS. Some function of the CPU (the central processing unit of the computer, i.e. its brains) may be disabled. To check which instruction sets are available to you for the processor, download and run the free CPU-Z program:

Another solution how to get around this error:
- download the emulator software.intel.com/system/files/managed/2f/ac/sd .. (https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/pre-release-license-agreement-for-intel-software-development-emulator-accept-end-user-license-agreement-and-download
);
- unzip the contents into the game folder so that the files are in only one folder;
- create a shortcut from the sde.exe file;
- right-click on the shortcut and select “Object” in its properties. Here you need to add – SmartSteamLoader.exe. You should get: “D: GamesQuantum Breakdx11sde.exe – SmartSteamLoader.exe” (without quotes).
Try to launch the game from the shortcut. In some cases, this process requires running as administrator.
ERROR: Kingdom Come: Deliverance: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG
After the latest updates, constant crashes began, as well as driver crashes. Very often, an attempt to start the game is blocked or the game crashes already from the match process, a message of the following character appears: “dxgi_error_device_hung” or “dxgi_error_device_removed”.
One of the reasons: the config does not see your video card and temporarily throws it out of the system. As a result, DirectX hangs and throws one of these errors. To fix this failure, follow the instructions.
- Use the Win + R keyboard shortcut. Enter regedit in the Run command line. Click OK.
- In the Registry Editor, find the settings for your graphics driver: ComputerHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMControlSet001ControlGraphicsDriver.
- For graphics drivers, you need to create a 32-bit DWORD parameter, even if there is a 64-bit system. Right-click on an empty field and select New – DWORD Parameter (32-bit), name it TdrDelay.
- Select it and change: System of calculation – Decimal, Value – 15. Then click OK.
- Restart your computer and start the game.
The next reason for the error is GPU overclocking issue. The game may freeze several times in 3-4 hours, but now. After setting the default GPU clock for the GPU, the problem should go away. A couple more solutions:
- Disable Rivatuner which is blocking frame rate. Also disable third-party overlays (fraps, afterburners, etc.).
- If the game crashes every 10-15 minutes and an error pops up: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG, reducing the frequency in the GPU helped many users. Through AMD Radeon Setting (https://www.amd.com/ru/technologies/radeon-pro-software-settings
) go to the video game profile and reduce the GPU frequency in the Wattman tab.
- This instability is usually created either by a bad card or its aggressive overclocking. Disabling OC fixed the game freezing.
- In the case when the game makes the processor and the video card very hot, set 70% of the forced operation of the fan. For many, this allowed them to troubleshoot. However, if the video driver crashes after rebooting, then update the driver.
These manipulations really help fix this error.
ERROR: Kingdom Come: Deliverance: Game won’t start
After downloading a licensed game, it does not start. The Kingdom Come screensaver appears and STEAM says – launch for a few seconds, then syncs with the cloud. To solve this problem, users noted that it does not help:
- Launching the game on behalf of the admin.
- Disable STEAM cloud.
- Checking the integrity of the game files.
- Restart STEAM.
- Restart your computer.
This error often occurs for users who have Windows 10 version 1809 installed in combination with a Driver / Suite mouse / keyboard. In fact, the solution to the problem is quite simple.
- Remove the mouse driver / Suite and the game should run flawlessly.
