Send emails to multiple recipients with Gmail from your computer

Are you interested in understanding how to send an email to multiple recipients with Gmail using your computer? Then stick to the following instructions on what to do. In fact, below I have explained to you how to do this using the Web version of the service and using the programs, or rather the clients, used for managing e-mails available for PC and Mac.

Web

To be able to send an e-mail message to multiple recipients using Gmail in the  Web version, the first fundamental step you need to take is to start the browser that you generally use on your computer (eg Chrome ) and go to the main page of the service. If necessary, also log in to your account by pressing the Login button located at the top and typing your e-mail address and password in the appropriate fields.

At this point, start composing a new email by clicking on the Write button at the top left. In the window for composing the e-mail message that you see appear, fill in the To field by typing the email addresses of all recipients, separating them with a space. If a given e-mail address is present in the contact list of your Google account, you will see the relevant suggestion appear and you can, therefore, select it from the list that opens.

You can also choose to carbon copy recipients, which is usually used to make someone aware of something, in addition to the primary recipients. To do this, click on the Cc item that you find in the To field and fill in the appropriate field that you see appear with the recipients’ email addresses.

Don’t want the recipients of the email you’re about to send to see the names and addresses of the other people you’re sending it to? Then you have to make use of the blind carbon copy. To use it, click on the words Bcc, always present in the To field, and enter the recipients’ address in the field that is shown to you.

Then enter the subject of the message in the Subject field and the body of the email in the appropriate area located a little further down. You can also format the text and/or add any attachments using the appropriate buttons on the toolbar at the bottom. To conclude and to send the email, click on the Send button located at the bottom, on the left.

If this interests you, I also point out the possibility of forwarding an email to several people. To do this, open the reference message by clicking on the relevant subject, press the button with the three dots vertically at the top right, select the word Forward from the menu that opens and fill in the ToCc or Bcc field with the email addresses of the recipients. Then proceed with sending as I indicated earlier.

Client

Do you use OutlookThunderbird,  Apple Mail or another computer email client to manage your Gmail account and would like to understand how to send an email to multiple recipients? I’ll explain immediately how to proceed: even in this case, it’s child’s play!

First, open the program for managing e-mail on your computer, then start composing a new message by clicking on the appropriate button (usually the one with the pencil ). In the new window that opens, fill in the To field by typing the e-mail addresses of the recipients separated by a comma or a space.

If you want your viewers to be a carbon copy or blind carbon copy, fill in, respectively, the fields Cc or Bcc with the email addresses of people you want to address the message. If you can’t see them, most likely it’s because you need to activate them in the client settings or you need to expand the menus attached to the compose window.

Subsequently, fill in the Subject field by typing the subject of the message, the one dedicated to entering the body of the email with, in fact, the body of the email and, if you want, format the text using the various buttons and special tools located on the bar located in up or down.

If you want to add attachments, click on the appropriate button (usually it is the one with the paperclip ) and select the reference files from your computer. Finally, click on the button to send the message (usually it is the one with the word Send on it or with the envelope for the letters ) and it’s done.

As for the possibility of forwarding a message to multiple recipients, select the reference email, press the forwarding button (usually the one with the arrow ) and fill in the fields ToCc and/or Bcc with the email addresses of contact persons. Then proceed with sending in a similar way to what I indicated in the previous lines.

Web

You haven’t downloaded the Gmail app on your smartphone or tablet and would like to understand how to send an email message to multiple recipients using the web version of the service? No problem: first of all, take your device, unlock it, open the browser with which you generally surf online on the move (eg Chrome on Android and Safari on iOS), connect to the Gmail home page and, if necessary, log in to your account by pressing the appropriate button and typing your email address and the associated password.

Then start composing a new e-mail message by tapping the button with the pencil located in the upper right part of the screen. Next, fill in the To field by entering the email addresses of all recipients, separating them from each other with a space. If one or more of the email addresses you enter are in the contact list of your Google account, the relevant suggestion will be shown automatically, which you can select if necessary.

If, on the other hand, you want to copy the recipients, tap on the Cc / Bcc field a little further down and fill in the Cc field with the reference e-mail addresses. By filling in the Bcc field, you can enter the email addresses of the recipients using the blind carbon copy.
