What to do if your Apple devices won’t sync with iTunes
Usually, when you connect your iPhone / iPad to your computer, an icon appears under Devices in the left column of iTunes on PC to indicate that the iPhone / iPad is detected and you can do whatever you want, for example, you can back up your Apple device. However, what if your iPhone or iPad won’t sync with iTunes?
Don’t worry, this is actually a common problem for new Apple users and is easy to fix on your own. In this article, we have offered several recommended ways to solve this problem. So let’s see what you can do if your Apple device won’t sync with iTunes!
- Check iPhone / iPad cable
If your computer doesn’t recognize your Apple device, the problem might be with your iPhone or iPad’s cable. So, make sure your Apple gadget’s USB cable isn’t faulty or even has any problems.
If you have no problem with the USB cable, but you still can’t sync iTunes with your iPhone / iPad, you can try plugging it into a different port on your computer. If it starts working, it means that the previous port on your PC is faulty.
- Restart your computer and iPad / iPhone.
If you have checked both the USB cable and PC port and they are ok but still having iTunes sync issue, you should try this trick. Restart your Apple device and computer. A simple restart / restart can fix so many common problems with Apple computers and devices.
To restart your computer, all you have to do is turn off your computer completely, wait a little, and then turn it on.
To restart your iPad / iPhone, simply press and hold the Home button and the Sleep / Wake button at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
After restarting both devices, you can try to connect them to access iTunes on your Apple device. Hope this works and fixes the problem.
- Reinstall iTunes
If you still can’t sync iTunes on your iPhone / iPad, it’s best to reinstall the iTunes app. To do this, you must first uninstall the application from your computer. Just open the Start menu on your Windows PC, go to Control Panels, select Programs and Features, and then scroll down to find iTunes. Then right-click it and select “Delete.”
After that, you can download the latest iTunes app to your computer. Hopefully it works now and your Apple device syncs with iTunes.
If you’ve tried all of the above tricks and the problem persists, it usually means that your iPhone / iPad has been damaged or just old age, if you have the oldest model, then you should sell your iPhone or iPad and buy a new one!
