You have recently forgotten several important tasks, you even “washed” the birthdays of a couple of friends, but there is a date that you have marked in red on every calendar at home and for which you have set dozens of reminders on your smartphone: on September 30, the day that is fixed the dreaded deadline to file the statement of income with 730.
You consider yourself a “smart” type and, when you can, you love to do everything from your smartphone or PC. Therefore, the mere idea of having to go to a CAF in your city, maybe even two or three times, and spending countless minutes waiting to complete your file – for which you will also have to pay a fair sum – makes you come there. ‘urticaria. Furthermore, having recently changed jobs, you are not even sure if you have to submit your tax return and, if so, what documents you must submit to accompany it. In short, a real nightmare!
I understand you very well, and that is why today I would like to talk to you about Taxfix, the first app for filing your tax return directly from your smartphone or PC. Founded in Germany a few years ago, where it allowed local taxpayers to recover millions of euros in tax refunds, it was launched in Italy with the aim of “simplifying” the payment of taxes, the compilation and submission of the tax return saving taxpayers time and money. In fact, it is enough to answer a few questions and you will immediately find out if you need to make the declaration and which documents you need: this first part is free. Later, again from the app, you can enter all the necessary information and documents and, with a contribution of only € 29.90, you can rely on Taxfix experts. The declaration is filled in by expert accountants and sent to the Revenue Agency in a handful of taps, or clicks, without leaving home. Would you like to know more? What Taxfix is and to whom it is addressed
As just mentioned, Taxfix is the first app to make a tax return available in Italy. It was born in Germany, where it allowed local taxpayers to avoid many bureaucratic processes and to recover millions of euros in tax refunds. In Italy its goal is the same, that is to simplify the compilation and submission of the tax return as much as possible, saving the taxpayer time and money with the validation and confirmation of a team of experts who make sure that the information is accurate, in line with current regulations and there are no errors.
Its operation is really simple: you download the application on your smartphone or access the site from your PC, you answer some questions starting from the documents provided, the tax return is filled in and the app retrieves the pre-filled / tax position of the taxpayer. Then a super-simple guided process starts in which the documents to keep at hand (CU, identity card, medical expenses/rent/insurance deductions) are indicated, instructions for uploading them. The file is checked by Taxfix Italia so that everything is correct and then it is sent to the Revenue Agency; all at a cost of only € 29.90 (to be paid at the end of the procedure, confirming that you want to use the service after uploading the documents and answering all the questions).
This is a nice saving compared to the classic CAF, which require at least 2-3 appointments in physical offices, “infinite” waits and an expense that is between 20 and 80 euros, but also of time compared to the pre-filled declaration available on the Revenue Agency website, which is free of charge but requires a certain degree of complexity both for accesses and for sending the return itself.
Another advantage of Taxfix is that the service can be used both from smartphones and computers, with the possibility of “jumping” from one device to another at any time, in order to have maximum comfort in all phases of the procedure. For example, it is possible to upload some documents in PDF and fill in some forms from the Taxfix website from a PC and then go to the smartphone app and photograph some of the paper documents to be uploaded with it.
In addition to the convenience and economic convenience, the maximum security guaranteed by Taxfix must be taken into consideration: the Taxfix team of accountants who rely on the service, in fact, review all the taxpayer’s documents and make sure that the declaration is corrected before sending it to the Revenue Agency. Furthermore, the data are processed in compliance with the regulations, personal protection of privacy and access for the tax authority.
How do you say? Taxfix seems very interesting to you but you don’t know if you have to make a tax return and you don’t know if Taxfix is the best solution for you? No problem: Taxfix also offers a practical free questionnaire that allows you to answer these questions in seconds, without obligations! All you have to do is connect to the appropriate questionnaire.
You will then be asked 5 simple questions relating to, for example, your job and your home and you will be immediately told if you need to make a tax return and if Taxfix may be the most suitable solution for you (for example, the service at the moment it is not available for VAT numbers with income deriving exclusively from this, workers abroad, entrepreneurs, those who have received income from property sales and those who have received investment income from abroad, from foreign financial institutions or from trading direct). How to use Taxfix
At this point, I would say that we can get to the heart of the matter and see more closely how to use Taxfix to make the tax return in a “smart” way, both from the phone and from a PC. I assure you it’s really child’s play!
Account creation
First, choose whether to start the procedure from a smartphone, by downloading the Taxfix app for Android or iPhone (just open the appropriate page of the store on your device and press the Install / Get button; in the case of an iPhone you may have to check also your identity), or from a PC, by connecting to the Taxfix website and clicking on the button Start your declaration.
At this point, regardless of the device you are using, the procedures to follow are the same and, as mentioned above, you have the freedom to switch from one device to another based on how comfortable it is for you (you just need to log in with the account you are about to create).
Then click on the Create your account button and indicate all the occupations you had in the previous year (eg. Employee in Italy, Unemployed, Student, Occasional self-employed or Retired ), then click on the Next button and confirm that you have entered all information correctly. In case of doubts or problems, please note that at any time you can press the cartoon icon to get in touch with Taxfix tax experts and receive answers to your questions (you can also book a telephone consultation).
In the following steps you must enter your name and surname, then your telephone number (Taxfix tax experts will contact you only if they need clarification) and your e-mail address ( PEC is not required ). Also set a 4-digit code to be used to protect access to the app (on mobile devices equipped with fingerprint/face unlocking you can also authenticate through the latter), check the box relating to the general conditions of service, the assignment to the accountant and privacy policy and press the Confirm button.
A confirmation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address indicated in the registration form: open the link contained within it to validate your account and continue creating your tax return.
Loading documents
Now you just have to follow the Taxfix instructions carefully to find the documents you need. After eventually activating the notifications relating to tax deadlines (if you are acting from a smartphone) and pressing the Continue button, then press the Let’s start button and start answering the questions that are asked of you.
First of all, you will be asked to choose the options that best describe your housing situation in the previous year (e.g. owner/usufructuary, rented or none of the previous ones ) and to answer some questions relating to the same (e.g. if you have rented part of your main residence to someone).
Next, you will be asked to indicate the types of expenses you had in the previous year: medical bills, public transport passes, insurance, mortgage interest, and so on. Also indicate this information, specify if you had dependent family members, if in the previous year you were the owner or usufructuary of one of the listed real estate and press the Continue button.
At this point, Taxfix will show you the list of documents needed to make the declaration: to upload them, all you have to do is click on the respective boxes, then on the Add document box and choose how to proceed. If you act as a smartphone, you can photograph the document in real-time using the device’s camera; otherwise, you can upload an existing document in PDF format, both from smartphone and PC.
To switch from smartphone to PC or vice versa, all you have to do is connect to the Taxfix website from your PC or open the Taxfix app for Android / iPhone on your smartphone and log in with the account data you created earlier: in this way you can upload the documents in the way you feel most comfortable and congenial to your needs.
Once all documents have been uploaded, check the box in which you confirm the correctness and completeness of the uploaded documents and press the Confirm and proceed button.
If, on the other hand, you want to add or remove a document, you have other documents that you don’t know if you need to add or want to know more about the documents for the 730, select the appropriate items at the bottom of the Taxfix page and proceed by following the on-screen instructions.
Entry of data on residence, withholding agent and identity document
Now you have to enter your current residential address, confirm if you lived in the same city also the previous year and at the beginning of the current year, enter your tax code, indicate your marital status as of 31/12 of the previous year, any dependent family members and insert the withholding agent.
If you don’t know how to enter this information, I’ll explain it to you immediately: in general, if you are an employee, the withholding agent is the company you work for; if you are a pensioner it is the INPS, while if you have a job with withholding tax, it is the company you invoiced. Once you have also entered this information, go ahead and press the Continue button to go to the last steps of the procedure.
In the last stages of the procedure you must provide an identity document and confirm the sending of the declaration to the Taxfix experts, who will check it and only after receiving your confirmation in which you will know if your tax position is credit or debit will they proceed to send it to the Revenue Agency.
Then press the Let’s start button and proceed with uploading your identity document, which can be an electronic or paper identity card or your passport. If you act as a smartphone, you can also photograph the document in real time with the camera of your device: you will have to take a shot for the front side and one for the backside, making sure that all the information is clearly visible.
Payment and submission of the declaration
Once the procedure is complete, click on the Continue button and proceed to pay the 29.90 euros required for the review service and send the tax return to the Revenue Agency.
Then enter your billing address, press the Next button, provide the details of the payment card you want to use for the transaction and press the Pay button to send the declaration to Taxfix.
You will then receive communications relating to the status of the case via email. Taxfix tax experts will also ask you for any additional documents or confirmations, again via email. Once your practice is correct and verified in all its details, they will inform you about your tax position, detailing the credit or debit amounts, and your 730 will be sent to the Revenue Agency. To download the 730 of your return, once it has been completed correctly, all you have to do is access your profile page in Taxfix (the little man icon ) and click on Download your 730. Easier than that ?!
