Sudoku Quest

Sudoku Quest is one of the most popular Sudoku games on the web. It is available as a game for  Facebook  and as an application for Android and iPhone / iPad . Applications for smartphones and tablets include online functions (such as high scores) but can be used without problems even without a connection.

The game is structured in levels; levels that must be completed within a time limit. Includes 11 puzzle variants and power-ups that can be redeemed or purchased with in-game coins.

As for the gameplay, the Sudoku Quest interface is completely in English but this, even for those who have no particular feeling with foreign languages, does not affect the playability of the title: the rules to follow, on the other hand, are those of the classic Sudoku and its most famous variants.

HashCube Sudoku

Sudoku by HashCube is another very popular online Sudoku game on Facebook. It has less attractive graphics than Sudoku Quest, it is probably a little less varied, but still ensures a high level of fun.

The title offers the possibility to play in single or multiplayer mode. You can challenge your friends by selecting their names from the Challenge tab  , or other users already connected to the game (whose names are available in the Online users tab  ).

There are five game difficulties available: from  beginner (which is the easiest) to  evil (which is the most difficult). Also you can play with a 12 × 12 pattern instead of the standard 4 × 4 one. If you ask for suggestions on the values ​​to be included in the diagram (by clicking on the light bulb icon ) virtual coins are subtracted from your game account.

If you want to play Sudoku online  but you are not registered on Facebook, I strongly invite you to visit  Sudoku.com , a site completely in Italian that allows you to play directly from the browser without having to register or waste time. It works on all operating systems and all the latest browsers. Unlike other similar services, in fact, it does not use Flash Player and this makes it compatible with smartphones and tablets (without the need for special apps).

To start your first game on Sudoku.com , connect to the main page of the site and select the desired difficulty level from the Level drop-down menu ( Beginner , Easy , Medium , Hard and Expert modes are available ). At this point, click on the empty cells in the game diagram and type the digits to be inserted in them using the computer keyboard.

You can also print the Sudoku puzzle (and maybe keep it for when you don’t have an available connection) by clicking on the Print button and change game by clicking on New puzzle . To delete all the fields filled in in the game in progress, instead, click on Free , while to view the Sudoku solution click on the appropriate button.

Planet Sudoku

The Planet Sudoku website  offers a fully customizable Sudoku puzzle with a wide variety of game patterns and difficulty levels to choose from. It is free and, since it does not use Flash technology, it works perfectly on all operating systems and all devices.

To choose the type of Sudoku to try your hand at, select the Puzzles item from the menu located at the top of the screen. Then select one of the difficulty levels available in the Select Difficulty drop-down menu ( Very easy , Easy , Medium , Hard and Very hard modes are available ) and click on the preview image of the Sudoku you want to try. If you want to “browse” other more advanced game schemes, click on the Advanced Puzzle Picker link .

The mechanism of the game is that of classic Sudoku, you simply have to select the empty cells with the mouse and enter the numbers inside them using the PC keyboard. If you encounter particularly difficult games, you can activate help by going to the Helpers menu .

Functions are available to highlight the rows and columns to which the cells selected with the mouse belong ( Highlight Rows, Columns, and Boxes ), mark the cells with incorrect values ​​( Highlight Incorrect Cells ), view the possible solutions of each cell ( Show Hints / Candidates ) and more.

Other Sudoku games online

Are you fed up with classic Sudoku? Then know that there are different variations of the game suitable for both experts and non-experts. Let’s see some of the most interesting ones available for free on the Internet.

  • Jigsaw Sudoku- variant of Sudoku in which the game scheme is made up of colored areas, which are “interlocked” to form a sort of puzzle. The zones of each color cannot contain the numbers 1 to 9 more than once.
  • Sudoku X- version of Sudoku in which the game table contains a series of special cells, arranged diagonally to form an “X”, inside which the numbers from 1 to 9 cannot be repeated.
  • Killer Sudoku- for experienced players only. In this type of Sudoku, in fact, the game scheme is completely empty and the only clues available to the player are groups of cells (marked by a dotted border) in which the sum that the figures inside the individual boxes are shown they must totalize.
  • Sudoku Samurai- this Sudoku variation offers the player five overlapping grids. The goal is to have the numbers appear in each 3 × 3 column, row, and box only once.
