How to connect the Smart TV to the Internet
To download applications on Smart TV, an Internet connection is obviously required. Not surprisingly, the Smart TV is just a modern TV that uses the Internet connection, in order to be able to offer additional services, available precisely through applications that can be downloaded for free.
Having said that, you should know that you can easily connect your Smart TV to the Internet via Wi-Fi network to download applications, with a procedure very similar to that of a normal mobile device; a bit as if the TV were a giant tablet.
The procedure that will allow you to connect the Smart TV to the Internet clearly varies according to the make and model of your TV: there is therefore no identical procedure for all the TVs that I can indicate to you. In any case, it’s not that difficult: it is a step in the initial TV setup procedure and you shouldn’t have any difficulty doing it.
In any case, in case you need more clarification about it, know that, for example, for an LG Smart TV , you have to go to the Settings menu (the symbol of a gear ) of the TV.
Then locate the item relating to Internet access ( Network ), which may also be indicated by the item Network or Internet connection and select it using the remote control, to view the list of available Wi-Fi networks.
At this point, connect to your Wi-Fi network, selecting it from those in the list and, if access is protected by a password, type in the menu that is shown to you, to allow your Smart TV to log in to the Internet.
Alternatively, you can connect the Smart TV to the Internet via a normal Ethernet cable and thus make a wired connection. Before doing this, check that the TV in question has an Ethernet input and, if successful, plug one end of the cable into its input. The other end of the cable will instead be plugged into your router’s Ethernet port.
If you don’t have an Ethernet cable, keep in mind that you can find one at any store that distributes consumer electronics products, or go online.
If you have any doubts about the initial configuration procedure and/or how to connect your Smart TV to the Internet, consult the user manual that you can surely find inside the box of the TV you purchased. Alternatively, check out my tutorial on how to connect your TV to the Internet.
Smart TV app
Having made these important premises, I can devote myself to reviewing what, in my opinion, are to be considered as the best apps for Smart TV.
Keep in mind that, to download the applications I have reported, you must go to the reference digital store of your Smart TV (for example, on LG Smart TVs this is called LG Content Store ).
You must then search for the application of your interest in the integrated search engine to see if it is also present on your TV and possibly install it through the appropriate button ( Get or Install ).

How to find other Smart TV apps to download
To download other applications on Smart TV you can always refer to the default store of your TV. If you have any doubts you can also consult the list of official applications through the online version of the appropriate digital store.
For example, on LG Smart TVs you can refer to LG Content Store, which is marked with a shopping bag icon and is located on the main screen of the Smart TV.
Once started, refer to the Premium sections (the P symbol ) and the one with a controller symbol, which includes the most popular apps. Alternatively, via the magnifying glass icon, you can search for a specific app, using the search engine. For more information, check out my guide on how to download apps on LG Smart TV.
On Samsung Smart TVs , however, refer to the Samsung Smart Hub, identifying the Featured> Applications section, in which the apps are divided into categories ( News , Most Popular, Games, Lifestyle, Information, etc.). To learn more, read my guide on how to download apps on Samsung Smart TVs.
In addition, I recommend that you also read my guide on how to download apps on Philips Smart TVs, to know how to take advantage of the virtual store present on these Smart TV models.
App for Android Smart TV
Do you own an Android Smart TV? In this case you will be interested to know that on Android TV you can download many more applications, since this platform is based on the famous operating system for smartphones and tablets, for which many applications and games are available (not all optimized for use on Smart TV but in many cases however usable).
Among the apps that you can download through the Google Play Store, there are, just to give you a few examples, Twitch, Facebook, VLC and Kodi, but the list could go on and on!
