After putting it off over and over again, you’ve finally made up your mind to tidy up your closet. By arranging your clothes, you realized that you have a large number of clothes you haven’t worn for a long time, many of them still in perfect condition. Instead of putting them aside again or, even worse, throwing them away, you’ve thought about selling them online and, for this reason, you’ve done some research on the web to find out how to do this. That’s the way it is, am I right? Then let me tell you that you’ve come to the right place at the right time!

In the next paragraphs, in fact, I will list a series of sites to sell clothes that could be right for you. In addition to showing you what, in my opinion, are the best ad sites for selling used clothes, I will propose some sites that allow you to sell both new and unworn clothing and used clothing. For each site I am going to mention, you will find the detailed procedure for creating your account and for publishing a sale advertisement, also listing any commissions applied for each successful sale.

If you are looking for sites to sell clothes and your intention is to get rid of used clothes, you will be pleased to know that there are various solutions available to you. Which ones are they? I’ll tell you right away!

Subito.it

Subito.it is among the first sites to sell used clothes that you can consider. You can create an account for free and there is no charge for either creating an ad or for each successful sale. However, it is possible to purchase paid services that allow you to give greater visibility to your ads.

To create your account on Subito.it, connected to the official website of the service and click on Register, then enter your data in the fields Your email, Password, Birthday, Gender and Municipality, put the checkmarks necessary to accept the conditions of the service and press the Confirm button to create your account. For the detailed procedure, you can take a look at my guide on how to register on Subito.it.

After logging into your account, click on the Place Ad button at the top right and select the Apparel and Accessories option via the Category drop-down menu. Once this is done, specify the type of dress you want to sell ( Sweatshirts and sweaters, Pants, Skirts, Shoes, Jackets, etc.) and select one of the available options ( Men, Women, Unisex ) via the For drop-down menu.

At this point, click on the camera icon, to upload one or more photos of your item, enter the title of the ad in the appropriate field and specify the details of the item in the Ad text, Price and Municipality fields. Then specify your name in the appropriate field, make sure that the email address visible in the Email field is correct and also enter your telephone number, to allow users interested in purchasing your product to contact you by phone.

After entering all the required data, click on the Confirm button and, in the new open page, choose whether to use the paid services of Subito.it that allow you to give more prominence to your ad: Put back to top (starting from 3.90 euro) which allows you to reposition the ad at the top of the list of sales ads or Put in the showcase (starting from 0.80 euros) to publish the ad in a dedicated and clearly visible position.

Once you have made your choice, click on the Continue button, in order to send your announcement to the Subito.it staff, who will review and publish it. As soon as your article is published, you will receive an email notification.

Kijiji

Kijiji from eBay is a classifieds site that allows you to create listings for the sale of items of all kinds, including used clothing. Registration is not required and no commissions are applied to the final sale price. It is also available as an application for Android and iOS / iPadOS.

To sell on Kijiji, connected to the official website of the service, click on the Insert button located in the top menu and, first of all, select the category Clothing and accessories through the appropriate drop-down menu. Having done this, it indicates the type of dress you’re selling ( Women’s Clothing, Men’s clothing, Other apparel and accessories ), specifies the Municipality in which is located the article in question and, in the section Enter the Title, Description and Images, make sure you have selected the Offer option.

Then type the title of the ad in the Title field, enter the description of the object you are selling and specify the type ( Sweatshirts and sweaters, Accessories, Shoes, Pants, etc.), then enter the price in the appropriate field and click on the item Upload an image, to upload up to 8 photos of the dress you intend to sell.

If you wish, in the Visibility Services section, you can choose one of Kijiji’s paid services that allow you to give more prominence to your ad: Ad Plus (€ 22.90) allows you to bring the ad to the top of the ads once a week for six months; Highlights (€ 1.90) allows you to give greater visibility to the ad; Always back to the top (8.90 euros) allows you to bring the ad at the top of the ads every week for 7 times or every day for 10 times or  Top Ads (8.90 euros for 7 days or 22.90 euros for 30 days ) which allows you to show the ad in a privileged position, always at the top of the list.

Finally, enter your contact information in the Name, Email and Phone fields (not mandatory) and click on the Publish your ad button to create your sale advertisement. To publish it permanently, log in to your inbox, locate the email sent by Kijiji, click on the Confirm content button inside and that’s it.

Facebook Marketplace

Facebook Marketplace is the Facebook section dedicated to sales announcements. You can create listings for both used and new items, including clothing. The service is completely free and the sale is managed privately between seller and buyer.

To sell your used clothes on Facebook, connect to the main page of the famous social network and, if you have not already done so, log in to your account. Now, click on the Marketplace item visible in the left sidebar and, in the new open page, click on the Sell ​​something button.

Then enter the title of the advertisement in the What do you sell? , Specificane the price in the appropriate field and select the category of your interest in clothes and shoes, clothes and shoes for men and Infants and Children. If you wish, enter the description of the dress you are selling in the Describe your item field and press the Photo option to upload one or more photos of the item.

Finally, I would like to point out that you can also create sales announcements on Facebook from smartphones and tablets, using the social network app for Android and iOS / iPadOS.

Other sites to sell used clothes

If in addition to the services that I have indicated in the previous paragraphs, you would like to know other solutions to increase your sales chances, here is a list of other sites to sell used clothes that you can consider.

• Svuotaly: is an Italian platform dedicated to the online sale of used clothes but which also allows you to create advertisements for new clothing items, both with and without tags. The service is completely free and there are no commissions applied to items sold.
• Announce: is an ad site that allows you to sell many products, including clothing. Registration is free, as is the creation of new ads. There are also no commissions on the final sale price. It is available as an application but only for Android
• Bakeca: is a famous site for sales announcements that also allows you to sell used clothes. The service is free, no registration is required to create a new listing and no commissions are applied to the final sale price.

Sites for selling new clothes

How do you say? Is your closet full of clothes you’ve never worn and still have their sales tags on? In that case, if you want to get rid of these clothing items, then rely on the sites to sell new clothes. Here are some such solutions that might be right for you.

eBay

eBay is among the most popular online shopping sites in the world that also allows you to sell items, including clothes, both new and used. It is also available as an application for Android and iOS / iPadOS.

Before explaining how to create a sale listing on eBay, you should know that non-professional sellers can create up to  50 free listings per month, after which each listing costs  0.35 euros. Furthermore, for each successful sale, a commission on the final value equal to 11.5% is applied (to which a commission of 0.35 euros per transaction must be added + taxes on shipping costs).

That said, to sell on eBay, connected to the main page of the famous online shopping site, click on the Login item, at the top left, and select the Create an account option. In the new screen that appears, enter your details in the Name, Surname, Email and Password fields and click on the Signup button to create your account. For the detailed procedure, I leave you to my guide on how to register on eBay.

To create an ad sales, premiums voice Sell placed in the top menu, enter the title of your listing in the field  Enter a descriptive title for the ad and click ‘ Sell. In the new page opened, select the item Create a new listing, put the checkmark next to one of the options available between New with tags, New without tags and New with defects and, in the Add photos section, upload the photos of the dress you want sell on eBay.

Then enter the description and details of the item you are selling and, in the Set a price section, click on the Edit option to choose the type of ad you want to create.

• Online auction: allows you to create sales announcements of varying duration from 1 to 10 days, specifying the starting price (and possibly the reserve price to be reached for the sale to be successful). At the end of the auction, the highest bidder wins the item in question.
• Buy it now: the seller sets a fixed price for the sale, also giving buyers the possibility to send any purchase proposals.

Once this is done, indicate the shipping conditions in the Shipping section, specify the payment method you prefer and press the Put on sale button at the rates shown, to publish your ad. To find out more, you can read my guide on how to sell on eBay.

Etsy

If you make handmade clothes that you would like to sell online, you can rely on Etsy. It is a website (also available as an app for Android and iOS / iPadOS ) that allows you to both make purchases and sell your products, as long as they are handmade or are at least 20 years old. Each advert published has a cost of 0.18 euros (the price may vary according to the fluctuations of the exchange rate) and for each successful sale a commission of 5% is applied.

To start selling on Etsy, connected to the main page of the service, click on the Sign-in button, at the top right, and select the Register option. Then enter the required data in the Email address, Name and Password fields and press the Register button to create your account.

Now, click on the item Sell ​​on Etsy, located in the top menu, and press the button Open your shop on Etsy, then enter all the data and information requested in the sections Preferences of the shop and Name the shop. On the Refill, Your Store screen, click on the Add Listing option, specify the characteristics and details of the first dress you wish to sell and click on the Save and Continue button to create your first listing.

At this point, specify your bank details and your billing details and click on the Open your store button, to complete the creation of the store and publish the advertisement created previously. To add new listings, all you have to do is select the item Ads visible in the sidebar on the left and click on the Add Ads button. For the walkthrough, I’ll leave you to my guide on how to sell on Etsy.

Sites for selling designer clothes

If you have designer clothes that you would like to sell online, you will be pleased to know that there are several websites that allow you to do this. Here, then, are some solutions of this kind that can do for you.

Vestiaire Collective

Among the best sites to sell branded clothes that you can consider is Vestiaire Collective. By creating your account, it is possible to publish sales announcements at no cost: for each successful sale, for items up to 150 euros, a fixed commission of 15 euros is applied; exceeding this value, a variable commission (from 20% to 25%) is applied to the sale price.

To start selling on Vestiaire Collective, connected to the official website of the service, click on Subscribe, at the top right, enter your email address in the appropriate field and press the Subscribe button, then enter the required data in the Password, Name fields and Title, tick to accept the Vestiaire Collective terms of use and press the Join the community button to create your account.

Now, click on the option Sell ​​an item, put the checkmark next to one of the options available between Men, Women, Children and Lifestyle, specify the type of dress you want to sell ( Shirts, Coats, Swimwear, Skirts, Underwear, etc.), indicate the brand in the appropriate field and press the Continue button.

In the new open page, enter all the required data in the Information, Photos, Description, Conditions and Price and Seller sections and click on the Confirm and Yes buttons to publish the announcement. To view the list of published advertisements, click on the little man icon, at the top right, and select the My items for sale option from the menu that appears.

Rebelle

Rebelle is another valid service for selling designer clothes, also available as an application for Android and iOS / iPadOS. To publish an announcement, registration is required and, for each successful sale, a commission is applied to the final sale price which varies according to the value of the item sold.

To start selling on Rebelle, connected to the official website of the service, click on the Login item and choose the Register option from the proposed menu. Enter the required data in the fields Your name, Your email address and Password and click on the Create your account button to complete the registration.

Now, click on the Sell button and choose the Sell ​​by yourself option. In the new open page, specify the brand or designer of your clothing item, enter the name of the item in the appropriate field and indicate the category by choosing one of the available options among Clothing, Bags, Shoes, Accessories and Jewelry.

Once this is done, indicate the condition of your item ( Used , Good , Very Good and Like New ) and click on the Next button , then specify the price , color , description and press the Upload photo button , to upload at least 3 photos of the dress that you intend to sell. Once this is done, enter the required data in the Addresses and Bank details sections and press the Insert item to sell button, to publish the advertisement and manage the sale in complete autonomy.

Alternatively, by clicking on the Sell and  Concierge Service options , Rebelle’s staff will create the ad and respond to all interesting buyers on your behalf. This service has a cost of 15 euros.
