Therefore, follow the instructions I am about to give you, to carry out this operation from smartphones and tablets, through the Instagram app for Android (downloadable from the Play Store or from alternative stores ) and for iOS / iPadOS (downloadable from the App Store ).
In addition, I will show you how to do it from a PC, using the Creator Studio tool which, available for those who have switched to a corporate Instagram account, by connecting a Facebook page, allows you to draft and publish posts on Instagram from a computer.
Android / iOS
To save the Instagram drafts of the posts by acting as a smartphone and tablet, first start the app of the well-known photographic social network, and log in to your account, if necessary.
Once this is done, press on the icon (+) and then tap on the Post item. Now, select from the media gallery of your device, the photo or video to publish, tap on it to select it and press the Next button twice in a row.
Then type the caption of the post you want to publish and then press the back arrow button twice in a row. Finally, save the post in drafts by clicking on the Save draft button. At any time, you can find the post saved in drafts by clicking on the Drafts button, located in the Post media editor.
In this way you can, therefore, publish the previously saved post or manage the drafts, by pressing on the items Manage> Edit ( the pencil icon ), in order to select the draft you want to delete and confirm the operation, pressing on the End items ( the checkmark icon )> Delete.

To save drafts on Instagram from your PC, access the section dedicated to Instagram of the Facebook Creator Studio tool, so you can manage the publication of multimedia content in Instagram posts.
Once this is done, click on the items Create Post> Instagram Feed, write the caption of your post and upload a multimedia element via the Add a content button.
Then, press the down arrow icon, check the Save as draft and finally confirm the operation by pressing the Save as draft button.
Saved drafts are visible in the Content Library section of Creator Studio. To manage them, click on the icon (…) and choose whether to delete them ( Delete ) or to publish the post previously created ( Publish now ).
How to save drafts of Instagram stories
You can also save the stories of Instagram in the draft, in order to publish it later. In the next few lines I’ll explain how to do this from a smartphone and tablet.
Android / iOS
To save in drafts a history of Instagram launches the app’s social network photo, log in to your account, if necessary, and then you make a swipe to the left to access multimedia editor dedicated to stories.
Then start creating the story, by recording a video or taking a snapshot or by loading a multimedia element from your device’s memory.
Once this is done, customize the story, using the tools of the multimedia editor, such as the ability to add music, hashtags or mentions, for example and, at the end of the customization, press on the icon (x) . Finally, tap on the Save draft item to save the multimedia content in the drafts.
You can find the Instagram drafts you’ve saved in the Drafts section of the Stories Media Editor, accessible by swiping down.
The drafts of Instagram will be automatically deleted after seven days; therefore, select the one you are interested in publishing it or select one to delete it by clicking on the X icon and then on the Delete draft button.

At the present time, although it is possible to create in a rather limited way Stories on Instagram from PC, through the Facebook Business Suite tool, it is not possible to save the Stories created in drafts to publish them at a later time.
How to save the drafts of the Instagram Reels
If you want to save drafts of Reels of Instagram to publish them at a later time you can do this on its smartphones and tablets, following the signs I’m about to give you in the following lines.
Android / iOS
Using the Instagram app for smartphones and tablets you can create Reels, using the Instagram multimedia editor dedicated to the publication of these short videos. Therefore, to start, press the (+) button and then tap the Reel section.
At this point, create a Reel using the appropriate tools of this multimedia editor or upload a video made previously. Once this is done, click on the Add> Preview> Next items and, finally, tap the Save as draft button.
Video saved in draft form it is available at any time in the section Drafts, visible by a swipe down the editor of Reel of Instagram so that you can then publish your movie saved by pressing the button Share.
PC
At the time of writing it is not possible to create Reels on Instagram from a PC and therefore in this specific case there is no possibility to save these videos in a section dedicated to drafts.
How to save draft Instagram IGTV videos
To create videos longer than a minute then use the IGTV section of Instagram which can be used from smartphones and tablets but also from PC. In both cases, as I’m about to explain, you can save a video in drafts to publish it at a later time.
Android / iOS
To publish a video on IGTV via the Instagram app for smartphones and tablets, go to your profile section, press the (+) button and then tap the IGTV Video item.
At this point, press the Next button twice in a row and, finally, to save it in the drafts, so that you can complete its publication at a later time, tap the Save as draft button.
To find the video you saved, press the IGTV icon located on your profile screen. You can, therefore, select the video to publish it, using the Publish on IGTV button or delete the draft created, using the Delete button.
From PC
By logging into your account via the official Instagram website you can create a draft for posting a video on IGTV by acting as a computer.
Therefore, to get started, go to your profile screen, click on the IGTV section and then press the Upload button, to import a movie with a maximum duration of 60 minutes.
At this point, drag or load a video file into the appropriate box, write a title and description, using the appropriate text fields and, finally, press the Save draft button.
Saved drafts are visible at any time in the IGTV section of your Instagram profile: press the View drafts button to see the videos you have saved. Then click on the video of your interest and, to publish it, press the Edit video> Publish buttons.If, on the other hand, you want to delete the draft created, click on the saved movie and then press the Delete button twice in a row.
