Steam

Steam is the most popular online video game store . If you ask some “experienced” PC gamer for advice on where to find computer titles, they will probably point you to the digital store owned by Valve (software house behind intriguing video games such as Half-Life , DOTA 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive ).

On the other hand, Steam is considered the platform par excellence for what concerns the world of PC gaming. To be clear, it has existed since 2003 , the year in which those that today represent the other major digital stores weren’t even “in the pipeline” (okay, Battle.net was invented in 1996, but you get the point). In any case, Steam allows you to quickly buy, download and install all the latest generation games.

Generally, publishers, or those who publish video games, do not miss the opportunity to release a game on Steam if they intend to release a PC version of the title. Of course, in some cases exclusive deals with other stores come into play, but in general you can rest assured: Steam is nothing short of well-stocked in terms of catalog. As for the client, the latter is very simple to use and is compatible with both Windows, macOS and Linux. This, of course, does not mean that a game designed for Windows can also run on other operating systems, or vice versa. For all the details, read my tutorial on how to download Steam .
