Numeric block on the keyboard:
How to fix the situation
The two most basic ways to bring NumPad back to life are:
- Physical inclusion.
- Changing the Ease of Access settings.
Physical inclusion
The most obvious remedy is to make sure the NumLock button is active.
- Click NumLock and try using Numpad.
- If the button is active, the numbers will start to be printed.
If the problem persists, go to the next step.
Changing the Ease of Access settings
Sometimes a potential cause of non-working digits is due to a failure in the Accessibility settings.
- Go to the Start menu.
- Find Control Panel.
- In the Control Panel section, find the Ease of Access category.
- Go to the Ease of Access Center.
- Select Change keyboard behavior.
- Go to the section “Control the mouse using the keyboard” and uncheck the box “Turn ON mouse keys”.
- Confirm the changes.
If NumPad continues to be disabled, there is a possibility that there is internal damage to a peripheral or an OS failure. Better to take the devices to a service center.
