How to trade on Rocket League

Rocket League is every sports and motorsport lover’s dream. In fact, the popular video game developed by Psyonix combines the world of car racing with that of activities such as football and basketball, resulting in particularly hectic matches. You are therefore having a lot of fun with this title, but you do not understand how a certain game mechanic works.

More precisely, you are wondering how to trade items in Rocket League . I understand your doubts: the game does not introduce this mechanic in a particularly clear way to the player, letting him learn “by himself”. In any case, you don’t have to worry: in this tutorial I will show you how to practice trading, explaining both how you can do this on your own and how to do it with other players (by doing so, you can get the rarest elements) acting from any gaming platform.

Did you know, for example, that it is possible to exchange duplicates directly with the game without having to “deal” with other users? No? Well then this guide is probably for you. In my opinion you can’t wait to discover all the possibilities offered by the trading mechanics on Rocket League. Courage, below you can find all the indications that will make you reach your goal. That said, there is nothing left for me to do, except wish you good reading and have fun!

Preliminary information

Before going into the details of the procedure on how to trade items on Rocket League , I think it may interest you to know more about this possibility.

Well, the practice of trading allows users of the Psyonix stock to trade items. This can be useful, for example, to get rid of the accumulated duplicates once and for all , as well as to obtain some elements that may be difficult to find but that someone else has more.

All very nice, but there is a requirement: you can only trade items with players within your party in Rocket League. This means that, in order to trade, it is necessary to add the other user, via nickname, and invite him to the exchange.

Put simply, the other player trading system is primarily meant to allow you to trade items with people you know. Over the years, however, users have clearly gathered in large online communities to organize trading sessions.

If you want advice, it’s probably best not to participate in this type of activity. In fact, unfortunately, among the users who simply want to play there are malicious people who have found various methods to obtain the precious objects of others without providing practically anything in return.

Just to give you an example, some bad guys have found a way to withdraw a precious item from their offer at the last second, in order to obtain the rarest items of a player by giving in exchange the items of little value.

In short, if you really want to trade in that way the choice is yours, but in this guide I will not show you any website of this type, for the aforementioned reasons. In any case, the procedure to follow, with friends and non-friends, is the same, once you know the nickname of the person to exchange with.

Before proceeding, I want to clarify that Rocket League also has a trading method that you can use completely on your own . The latter can potentially be very useful, as it allows you to get random items even simply by giving duplicates in return.

This feature is implemented directly by the game and there are therefore no problems whatsoever. I will start the guide starting from this interesting system.

How to trade on Rocket League

As mentioned in the previous chapter , Rocket League has a native functionality that allows you to trade your items for random others.

In particular, it is possible to “offer” the game 5 elements of the same rarity in order to obtain a random one of greater rarity in exchange . For example, by offering 5 Rare items it is possible to receive a Very Rare item.

To use this system, just start the game, click on the GARAGE box and select the INVENTORY MANAGEMENT option . Then, search for an item you want to trade (on the right it is indicated whether an item can be used for trading or not) and press the TRADE button (for example, left or right mouse button on PC, depending on the type of item) .

You will then enter the exchange screen: from here, using the tabs at the top, you can search for items to exchange of the same rarity as the one you have selected, perhaps aiming for duplicates. Once you have chosen 5 elements of this type, you just have to press first on the ACCEPT button and then on the Yes button to confirm the exchange.

By doing so, you will get an item of rarity higher than the 5 you used for the trade. In short, it is certainly an excellent possibility offered by the title of Psyonix.

How to trade on Rocket League without shopping

If you are wondering how to trade items in Rocket League without credits , this part of the guide is for you. In fact, I’m about to illustrate how online trading works .

The first thing you need to know is that it is unfortunately not possible to trade items with users who have the game on platforms other than yours. Trying to do so, Rocket League in fact returns an error message.

Put simply, for example, PlayStation users can only trade with other PlayStation users . Also, I remind you that items purchased from the Shop cannot be exchanged with other players.

For the rest, the doubt about the credits can actually arise, since, trying to buy them from the inventory screen, we read: “Use credits […] for exchange” . However, it is meant that it is also possible to exchange credits with other players to obtain certain items in return.

In any case, if you want, for example, to exchange an aesthetic element with a friend of yours, there is no need to shop , since you can simply offer both of the items obtained by playing.

That said, to start trading you have to be in the same group. Once Rocket League is open, press the CREATE GROUP button at the bottom left. Then, use the INVITE PLAYERS button and select the user you want to participate in the exchange.

If you can’t find the other person, it’s probably because you don’t have them among your friends . So just click on the group icon at the bottom right and use the ADD EPIC FRIEND button , then inserting the nickname of the user involved.

Obviously, to add friends in this way you need to go through the Epic Games account . On console , however, it may be enough for you to simply add the user as a friend directly from the system functionality.

For more details, I suggest you consult my guide on how to add friends on Fortnite : the procedures related to the account are the same, since it is another Epic Games title. Otherwise, if you have successfully added a friend and don’t see him online, you might want to try restarting the game .

Once your friend has joined the group, you will see their profile icon appear in the lower left corner. Select, therefore, the latter and press the Invite to exchange button . When the other user has accepted, the trading window will appear on the screen . The game will warn you that all trades are final .

On the left are the items that you can decide to trade, while on the right are your offers and those of the other user. When you are ready to trade, just press the ACCEPT button , located at the bottom right, and wait for the trade to go through.

As already mentioned in the preliminary chapter , I advise you to use this system only with people you know , as unfortunately there are online criminals who use this method to obtain the rarest items without essentially giving anything in return.

How to use items in Rocket League

Once you have obtained, through the exchange, the much coveted items, I remind you that you can apply / use them directly from the game’s inventory.

To access the latter, just start from the Rocket League home screen and press first on the GARAGE button and then on the CAR CUSTOMIZATION button . Here you have all the elements of the case that you have obtained during your “raids”.

You can select the various types of objects using the tabs at the top and just press on the object you want to apply to your vehicle to use it. If you want to use projects or open finds instead , you can do so through the INVENTORY MANAGEMENT section .

Among other things, I remind you that the finds are, in other words, “packages” containing items that you can get simply by playing Rocket League. They are often offered by the game as a reward for completing certain challenges.

Remember, therefore, to press the VIEW CHALLENGES button , present on the main screen of the game, and take a look at all the available cards . The rewards must in fact be redeemed manually and therefore you may have missed something.

The objects that you will find inside the finds can be very useful for your exchanges, so I advise you to always open these “packages” which can also be obtained totally free .

In short, now you know a little everything there is to know about the items available within Rocket League. You just have to put in place the procedures outlined in this guide to get the elements you think are most valid.

To conclude, since you are a fan of the Psyonix title, I would recommend that you take a look at the page on my site dedicated to Rocket League . In fact, the latter is full of tutorials that you might find interesting.
