How to speed up and optimize Windows 10? 4 practical tips
The correct operation of a computer directly depends on the correct settings of its operating system and the optimal operation of programs and services.
In this article, I would like to consider such a question as: acceleration and optimization of the Windows 10 operating system. If your computer is rather “weak” and does not have good system requirements, then this article will help you more than ever by the way!
So, let’s begin. Let’s talk about four practical tips to help you speed up and optimize your Windows 10 PC.
1. Disable unnecessary notifications and sending reports
First of all, you need to turn off all notifications, sending reports, etc. on Microsoft Windows servers. This will provide a higher speed of work (after all, the system will not waste its resources on these actions) as well as good anonymity of work, which is also important.
To do this, we need to click on the icon – an analog of the “Start” button, then go to the “Options” menu and then open the “System” menu item.
Then in the “Options” menu we “go through” all the items and disable all values that can send our data to the Microsoft server and will slow down the computer.
2. Disable User Account Control
The next step is to disable UAC.
To do this, go to the “Control Panel” of the computer and select the item “User Accounts”
In the next window, select the item “Change User Account Control Settings”
Having opened this item, we need to move the “slider” to the lowest position (Never notify) and then click OK to save the settings
After carrying out these actions, we will turn off the “annoying” notification after each launch of a program or opening a file, which will save us time and nerves!
3. Disabling unnecessary system services
During the operation of the operating system, many systems and user services are automatically enabled, which are most often not used and only take up extra RAM and load the processor.
The correct solution would be to disable some of them!
So, in order to disable services, you need to right-click on the My Computer icon and select “Manage”
After that, the computer control menu will open to us, wherein the left column you need to click on the “Services” icon, and in the right window we can edit them.
In order to disable the service, you must right-click on it and select “Stop” . After that, the specific service will be stopped.
Which services to disable personally is up to you, but I can only recommend disabling the following services that have been disabled on my home computer:
- Windows Defender Firewall service (I personally have enough protection against hacks and viruses using a third-party antivirus)
- Service “Nvidia Display Container”(additional components that come with the driver for the video card)
- Service “automatic update”(I personally install all updates manually, carefully analyzing each of them)
- Service “computer browser” (a rather dubious service that is designed to serve computers on the network, but after turning it off, both the network and third-party browsers work fine)
- Security Center service(again, I repeat, personally, I completely trust third-party antivirus and antispyware)
- Server service. If your computer is not connected to a local network, and you do not need to exchange data with computers and a printer, then this service can be disabled.
- All services that are somehow related to the “Windows Store” (unless, of course, you do not use their services).
4. Buying a solid-state SSD drive
Well, as always, we will leave the “sweetest ” at the end of the article!
Perhaps the most effective and correct solution for optimizing the Windows 10 operating system will be the purchase of a solid-state SSD drive, which, thanks to its production technology, provides the highest computer speed.
Even if you do not have the “weakest” computer, after installing a new disk you will notice a significant increase in performance, and together with the rest of the tips listed here, you can tune your PC to the maximum possible comfortable level of operation!
