How to make a throne in Minecraft
Before showing you how to make a throne in Minecraft , it is good to point out that the indications below apply to all versions of Minecraft and game platforms. Let’s start by looking at what materials are needed to create the object in question, so that you don’t have to retrieve them while you are busy with the construction.
Depending on the type of throne you want to build, you will need certain blocks. The choice, of course, is up to you: as I mentioned in the previous paragraphs, it all depends on how detailed you want the throne to be and what form you want to give it.
Materials needed
In order to build a throne , the first thing you need to do is choose the materials you are going to use. Obviously the choice is up to you, but my advice is to use blocks that are not too colored and with a simplistic design, such as Smooth Quartz or Smooth Stone .
Secondly, you need other materials, but this time you will need steps instead of blocks . These will be useful for making the precise point in which to “sit” on the throne, but also for adding any decorations if you deem them necessary.
To create steps you need to open a Workbench by right clicking in its direction and insert 6 blocks of the material you want to create steps for.
You may also find the Carpets useful, which you can add both around the throne and above the structure, according to your needs. You can create them by placing 2 blocks of Wool horizontally on the Workbench and by doing so you will get 3 Rugs .
Finally, if you want to add even more details to your throne, then you can also resort to the use of Fences or Walls . To create a Fence, you have to put 4 blocks of the material of your choice and 2 Sticks in the Workbench , while to create a Wall you have to put 6 blocks of a material of your choice .
Building the throne
Have you collected all the materials you need to create the throne? Then it’s time to get down to business and start building!
First you need to determine the space you have available to build the throne. Depending on what you had in mind, in fact, this could take one form rather than another. Anyway don’t worry, because I will show you more alternatives so that you can choose the one you prefer.
For example, if you have plenty of space available, then the first thing you can do is build a pedestal for the throne, so that it stands out even more. To do this, I advise you to use both the Steps and the Slabs well , so that they are uniform and not too “squared”.
If, on the other hand, you have more space in length than in width, then you may want to think about making a long carpet that goes straight to where you want to build the throne. As you can imagine, therefore, the procedure is quite simple: you just have to place some Rugs in front of the throne that cover the length you want.
After thinking about the surrounding area, you can start with the construction of the throne itself. For the “seat” you can choose any material, be it a Block , a Step or a Plate . If you decide to use a block, you could also place a carpet of your favorite color on top of it, in case you want to add it as a decoration.
Regardless of the type of material you want to use, I recommend that you use one that is different from the one you used to create the pedestal, as it might otherwise appear as if it were a single structure.
At this point, then build the area surrounding the seat: for this too I recommend you use Steps and Slabs , to prevent the throne from assuming a too “square” shape.
To complete the throne, you need to build the backrest . The latter can be as high as you like, although I advise you not to overdo it to avoid giving an unrealistic effect.
Now that you’ve built the foundation of the throne, it’s time to make it more detailed. To do this, I recommend that you use the Slabs and Steps a lot instead of the blocks: by placing them here and there, in fact, you will be able to give more dynamism to the throne, making it even more pleasant to look at.
Don’t forget to add some decorations too , as I mentioned in the previous chapter . For example, you could place a few Walls or Fences on the sides of the throne and even some Torches or Lanterns . By following all these steps, you will be able to create a detailed and particular throne, perfect as a decoration within your world.
Mod to make a throne in Minecraft
In case the solution I explained to you in the previous chapter is not what you were looking for to build a throne, then you might think about resorting to a mod . Essentially, what this is going to do is add new items and mechanics within Minecraft.
First of all, however, you must know that mods are only available for the Java version of Minecraft (i.e. the one available exclusively on PC). This means that for the Bedrock version of Minecraft (i.e. the one available on Windows 10 and Windows 11 , consoles and mobile devices) these cannot be used.
I also invite you to pay attention to the sites you visit when trying to download a mod, as you could run into portals that are harmful to both your PC and your privacy. My advice, therefore, is to always check the trustworthiness of sites when browsing the web.
Having made the necessary premises, before you can use the mods on Minecraft you need an additional element, that is Forge : it is a client that allows, in fact, the addition of content not present in the standard version of Minecraft. In case you don’t know how to get it, I invite you to consult my special guide .
The mod that I recommend you download to build a throne on Minecraft is MrCrayfish’s Furniture , which adds several new furniture within Minecraft, including, of course, also a throne.
To download this mod, all you have to do is go to its official page and click on the Download button . Make sure that the mod version is the same as that of Forge, otherwise it may not work properly.
After downloading the mod, it’s time to move it inside the Minecraft folder. To do this, type the key combination Win + R , to call the Run panel , write % appdata% in the latter and press Enter .
Now that you’ve run the command, you need to get to the Minecraft mods folder, which you can find by following the path .minecraft > mods
. Finally, all you have to do is move the mod file into the mods folder .
In case you are playing Minecraft with a Mac , then the path to follow to get to the Minecraft mods folder is as follows: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods
(if you are having trouble finding the folders, you may need to enable folder view hidden ).
Now that the mod file is in the right folder, you need to proceed by starting the game. At this point click on the Installations tab and, in case the Forge version needed to start the mod is not present in the list, click on the New installation button .
As a last step, select the suitable version of Forge in the box under VERSION and finally press the Create button and then click Play .
At this point you are ready: if you have followed the steps I have shown you a moment ago, Minecraft will start with the mod fully functional! The latter, as I mentioned in the course of this chapter, adds several new objects: among them we have furniture for the bathroom, for the outdoors, new decorations and more.
To create a throne , you have to place a Workbench on the ground and right click aiming it, after which you have to place 4 blocks of Dark Oak Planks inside it (3 in the right column and 1 in the lower left) and 2 blocks of Wool red (in the remaining empty spaces in the center). The result will be an object called the Grand Chair , which recalls the appearance of a throne.
This throne does not only serve as a decoration: thanks to this mod, in fact, it is also possible to sit on it. To do this, just aim for the throne and right click and your character will automatically sit. This feature alone should be enough to inspire you to give the mod a try, so you have no more excuses not to give it a try!
