Preliminary information

Before I go into detail on how to take the GTA 5 casino heist , let me give you some background information.

Let’s start by saying that having access to the missions related to the heist at the casino and at the Diamond Resort is very simple: just start the game after installing the latest update on any console or PC. If you have any difficulties, I leave you to my example tutorial in which I explain how to update games on PS4 .

You will be able to choose whether to log into GTA Online directly from the initial loading screen. If, on the other hand, you are already playing in Story mode, just open the game menu, select Online (the last item on the right) and choose the item Play GTA Online . You will then access the multiplayer component of the title with the character you created. If you don’t have a character in GTA Online yet, I suggest you take a look at my tutorial where I explain in detail how to create it.

After connecting, your virtual smartphone will ring within a few minutes. By answering, you can talk to Lester , the longtime friend of Michael De Santa and Trevor Philips , two of the protagonists of GTA 5. Lester will propose a meeting at Mirror Park to talk to you about a collaboration opportunity. At that point you will have to open the game menu, go to the Map item and open the game map. You will notice a green L icon in the eastern part of the city: go straight to the indicated point.

An intermission scene will start in which you and Lester will be surprised by Miss Cheng , a very wealthy businesswoman who has come to Los Santos to take revenge on the current owners of the Casino and Resort Diamond who have stolen her property. You and Lester will then be tasked to land a heist in the casino vault. What will you have to do at this point? Purchase one of the arcades for sale in town or in Blaine County.

The arcade will serve as a cover to plan the shot with Lester and the various preliminary operations will begin from the hall. Buying the arcade will be the main requirement to have access to the heist missions . To choose a property and buy it you will have to open your virtual smartphone, select the browser (the one with the blue icon in the shape of the world in the last row at the bottom center), and on the home page you will find the banner of the Maze Bank Forclosure website . Select the banner and open it. You will have access to the map of all properties for sale in Los Santos. The ones you need to focus on are the arcades (they have the yellow icon).

Some gambling halls are quite expensive, like Vinewood ‘s Eight-Bit ($ 2,530,000 GTA) , others are cheaper. But what you need to keep in mind is that the room will coincide with the point from which each of your next missions will start. My advice is therefore to choose a property located in the outskirts of the metropolis (here are the main points of interest, including the casino).

I would say the Vinewood Eight-Bit is just the best property, considering its location close to the major points of interest in the city as well as Blaine County.

Otherwise, the properties within them will all be the same. To buy the arcade, simply select it on the map and press the red Buy button . I do not recommend buying aesthetic customizations: they are not relevant to the various missions you are going to carry out.

Once you have bought the property and reached it, the preparation of the heist will begin. The headquarters for planning will be set up in the basement of the hall. The basement will be accessible via a hidden entrance behind a robot fortune teller’s window in the game room office (located upstairs). By interacting with the fortune teller with the key shown on the screen, you can access the dungeon.

Before starting the setup you will need some arcade cabinets for the arcade. To find them, Lester will instruct you to steal a load of them on a truck traveling through the roads of the map. Keep in mind the procedure for this mission as it will be pretty much the same for all strike preparation missions.

The location of the truck is generated randomly but finding it will be very easy. You will need to open the map and look for an icon of a moving blue van . Once you have reached it, you will have to eliminate the driver of the vehicle, drive it and return to your arcade. Each time you need to reach a destination, it will be marked with a yellow dot and the path to reach it will be highlighted in yellow on the map. Try to complete this and other missions quickly.

In fact, you will have 15 minutes to finish them, if you do not succeed in this time the mission will be failed and you will have to return to the basement of the arcade (indicated with the green H icon ) to start it again.

When you’ve finally recovered the truck with its cargo and brought it to its destination, the preparatory missions for the heist will begin. Lester will set up for you, from time to time, a whiteboard in the basement where he will summarize the objectives to be completed in order to move on to the next stage.

The board is the only point you will have to start a mission. To access some positions, you will be required to log in as the Boss or CEO of an organization. To do this you will have to open the interaction menu (e.g. on PS4 you have to press and hold the controller touchpad ) and you will have to scroll through the menu items and select SecuroServ or Motorcycle Club and then select the item Found an organization or Found a Motorcycle Club .

GTA 5 casino heist guide

Let’s go back to the blackboard now . On the surface you will notice the titles of some tasks and missions. The mandatory ones are marked with a yellow ticket with a black asterisk . You will need to carry out these tasks to move on to the next stages of the heist. There are three general steps: an inspection phase , a preparation phase and finally the actual shot . For the inspection you will be asked to go to the Diamond Casino.

Once you have reached it you will have to use your smartphone and the Snapmatic application (you can find it in the smartphone menu with the camera icon in the last row at the bottom left) to take pictures of some points of the building . To take the photos, just frame the points that Lester will show you (we will start with the main entrance) and press the confirmation button (eg X on PS4 ). After that you will need to go inside and take a photo of the guard at the entrance and one of the camera high on the ceiling. Every time you take a photo you will have to send it to Lester with the command indicated on the screen (eg square button on PS4 ).

The second mission required to proceed is the one titled Contents of the Vault (you can start it by selecting the photo under the one titled Casino Inspection ). This assignment is of fundamental importance since, unlike all the others, you can perform it only once without ever repeating it in the general arc of the same stroke. You will be prompted to track down a guard in a random area of ​​the map, you will have to follow him a short distance by keeping the Securoserv app turned on (you can find it in the lower right corner of the virtual smartphone menu). By opening the app you will then have to start hacking (this is a countdown that loads while staying behind the guard).

Once the hack is complete you will need to go to the Diamond Casino again . Inside the building you will have to start the Business Trip app (it will have taken the place of Securoserv in the smartphone menu, it has the pink Wi-Fi wave icon ). With this app you will connect to the casino network and have to search it for a specific security camera. It is located in the furthest room which has the floor illuminated with white light. You will also find it by keeping an eye on the small bar, at the bottom right, which will fill up as you get closer to the camera.

Once you have accessed the camera, you will be able to see the various points of interest with the shot. You will need to move the camera lens (eg with left analog on PS4 ). You will notice that frequently you will be notified of a point of interest at the bottom of the screen. You’ll have to move between the various cameras of the circuit and, to do this, you need to change the camera (using, for example, the cross direction of PS4). Each time you access a new camera you will have to move the camera to let the game memorize all the available points of interest. You will only have 5 minutes to do everything. The last camera will frame the contents of the vault. Here you can find precious paintings, banknotes, gold bars or diamonds.

You will find only one of these goods and the game will determine one based on the percentage of probability that I will show you in the chapter on diamonds . The first time you take the shot, you will always get the money which is the one that has the lowest value. To make the other goods appear in the Casino vault you will first have to complete the entire heist and then start it again. Once you have finished the shots you will need to go back to the arcade.

GTA 5 casino heist: approach

At this point you can choose your type of strike approach. The game offers you 3 different action strategies: Shadow , Aggressive and Cheat . By choosing the Shadow approach you will have to enter the casino with the utmost discretion trying not to be noticed by the guards. Each of them will project a blue cone on the map that represents its range of vision. You will need to keep yourself out of it on time.

With the Aggressive approach , on the contrary, you will have to pounce on all the guards with full weapons. By playing the heist in Cheat mode , however, you will enter the Casino in the uniforms of the surveillance guards. The choice depends on you and the style of play that is closest to you, the earning possibilities are the same regardless of the choice you make.

After you complete the heist in a specific mode you will then unlock the ability to repeat it in the same high difficulty mode and your chances of earning will increase. My advice is to initially focus on the Aggressive approach which is the simplest and is feasible even without the Security Measures mission , which is vital for the other two approaches and must be unlocked by spending a lot of money.

Each approach has its own set of mandatory missions that will allow you to access the final blow. The Imbroglio approach is certainly the most complex of the three. You will be required to find many tools to get inside the casino: staff access cards to bypass the security keypads, uniforms, a hacking device and drills.

Some preparatory missions, on the other hand, such as the procurement of weapons and vehicles for escape will be common to all three approaches. What you have to keep in mind is that all these preparation missions take place like the first one I explained to you , that of the load of arcade cabinets: you choose the mission from the blackboard and start with the confirmation button, then you exit the room games and you have 15 minutes to locate the object on duty, retrieve it and bring it back to the game room. Often you will also have to sow the police after taking possession of the object, to do this I advise you to aim for dirt areas where the cars struggle to reach.

My suggestion, whichever approach you choose, is to do the Duggan Expeditions mission which is on the list of optional missions. You will be required to shoot down helicopters which are carrying special guards to guard the casino. This is a challenging assignment but it will give you a great advantage when you go for the heist. The more helicopters you can destroy, the less dangerous the guards will be on the final blow.

Among the optional missions I strongly recommend that you also do the Patrol Paths mission , if you choose the Cheat or Shadow approach. This assignment will then allow you to see the guards with a red dot marked on the game map on the final shot. To complete this task, you will need to go to a random parking lot indicated with a yellow dot and eliminate the special corps you will spot. Then in the trunk of one of the parked cars you will have to find a document with the patrol routes of the guards and take a photo of it in the way I explained above (Snapmatic App).

Regardless of the shot you will also have to create a team of 3 members of non-player characters guided by the computer: a driver, a hacker and a shooter. You’ll find them at the top left of the heist board. Each of them will take a percentage of the final proceeds, each has skills that will be greater in direct proportion to the percentage requested. The shooter will provide you with the weapons for the shot and can also provide you with cover as a decoy, the driver will provide you with the escape vehicles and the hacker will give you a certain amount of time to rummage through the vault. My advice is to choose the most skilled hacker for the first few times you hit (especially for the Shadow and Cheat approach). You will need all the time in the vault. For the driver and the shooter, on the other hand, choose the one you prefer,

The shot itself, no matter how you choose to set it up, will always boil down to the following general pattern: go to the casino, enter from one of the access points I will tell you about shortly, go down to the lower floor that is, the basement of the vault by eliminating or avoiding the guards on the path, empty the vault, exit the round armored door and exit out of the underpass reaching the buyer in the shortest possible time.

GTA 5 Casino Shot: Points of Interest

The Diamond Casino is full of points of interest, which you will need to know to know how to move in the final stroke. I will list them for you in the next few lines, so you will have no problem looking for them.

First of all, it is necessary to distinguish between access points and points of interest . The points of interest are the ones I also told you about for the Contents of the Vault mission . You will have to frame them with the security cameras and they will be stored automatically, there are 10 in total and they are scattered around the corridors of the building. Carefully turn the camera shot as I indicated above to find all 10. These will be useful to you so that in the final shot the positions of the cameras are visible on the map.

The access points, on the other hand, are the ones that will allow you to enter the casino. These will give you more options to enter and exit the building at the time of the robbery. When you find one you will have to operate your virtual smartphone, choose the Snapmatic app (the one with the yellow camera icon), frame the selected point and send the photo to Lester with the button indicated on the screen. For these points you will need to do the mission Inspection of which I mentioned above you . The first access point is the main entrance to the casino with the long sliding glass door . Another 2 are located on the roof of the building, the heliport. You will recognize them because they are two doors flanked by a keypad each.

After that, you will have to climb even higher, to the terrace . Here you will find three access points. These are always doors with keypads located nearby. There is one on the front, one on the back and two on the side. After that you will have to go to the ground floor outside the building, on the street so to speak. Two doors are on one side of the building and one on the back. Next you will need to move to the racecourse area near the casino.

Here you will notice an underpass right inside the track, in the underpass there is a portcullis, this is a point of interest. For the last point you will have to go to the back of the casino where the access to the sewer system is located . You will have to go all the way down the underpass until you find a large grate and photograph it.

GTA 5 Casino Shot: Security Measures

The Safety Measures mission will be indicated to you as optional in all the approaches you choose and you will be able to see it on the board in the second phase of preparation of the shot. To access this assignment, you will first need to have purchased a penthouse at the Diamond Casino. To do this you will have to, as always, open your virtual smartphone, select the browser icon (the blue icon with the world) and click on the casino banner .
