How to get the SPID code
Recently, you have heard a lot about SPID but you have not yet fully understood what it is, what it is for and, above all, how to get it. You would love to resolve your doubts on the subject and it is for this reason that you are here, on this guide. Did I guess? Well, then know that I will be happy to help you!
In the next paragraphs of this tutorial, I will have the opportunity to explain to you how to get the SPID code by acting directly from your computer. If you’re ready to get started, I’d say don’t waste any more time chatting and proceed. SPID: what it is and what it is for
Before getting into the guide and seeing how to get the SPID code, let me explain a little more in detail what this tool is and what it is for.
The SPID ( Public Digital Identity System ) is a unique authentication system offered to citizens and companies, to facilitate access to online services provided by the Public Administration and other entities. Thanks to it, it is possible to access various services always using the same credentials, which must be requested from one of the many Identity Providers (or certification bodies ) available.
The SPID is not only easy to use, but it is also extremely secure, as it allows you to authenticate on the basis of three levels of security: level 1 guarantees access through the use of a username and password; level 2 allows to do so with username, password and password “disposable” (OTP) to be created via a dedicated device or via an app for mobile devices; the level 3 (still unused) instead allows access via a smart card and a password.
The SPID request can be made on reaching the age of majority. To do this, you must have a valid identity document at hand (identity card, driving license, passport, health card with tax code or residence permit, if you are not in possession of Italian citizenship).
You must also have a mobile number and an e-mail address, which are necessary for the completion of the procedure. Furthermore, to carry out remote recognition, you need a smartphone or a PC equipped with a webcam.
How to get the SPID code
Let’s go straight to the point and see in detail how to obtain the SPID code through some of the main certification bodies available ( here you can find the complete list).
Italian post
If you want to know how to get the SPID code with Poste Italiane, I tell you right away that it is possible to do this by proceeding with the convenient identification via the certified mobile number (therefore previously connected to a service provided by Poste Italiane), BancoPosta reader, digital signature, TS-CNS (health card) or CIE (electronic identity card). If desired, you can also opt to identify visually in any post office or with the recognition at home: in the first case the operation is free; in the second it costs 14.50 euros.
How can you make your request? First of all, go to the Poste ID website, click on the Register button immediately located on the left and choose the identification method you prefer ( Recognition in person, With Electronic Document (Passport or Identity Card) , SMS on Certified Mobile Phone, BancoPosta Reader, National Service Card or Digital Signature ).
The next step is to fill in the text fields in the forms proposed to you, specifying all the data required to complete the procedure, and to carefully follow the instructions given to you based on the previously chosen recognition method. More info here.
Aruba
Another Identity Provider you can contact for SPID is Aruba. It allows private users to take advantage of an offer that provides free first and second-level credentials for the first two years of the contract, while it allows companies to have the SPID at a cost of 35 euros/year + VAT.
To get the SPID with Aruba, visit its website and click on the Activate or Buy button. In the new page that has opened, make sure that the option you are interested in is selected (i.e. Individual if you are a private individual or Legal person if you are a company) and click on the Continue button.
Then, choose the method of recognition that suits you best (eg with digital or remote signature, with health card or CNS, with an electronic identity card (CIE) or digital person ). Keep in mind, however, that the recognition in person has a cost of 5 euros, which must be paid directly to the operator who will carry out everything.
Now, click again on the orange button Continue, log in to your Aruba account (or, if you have not already done so, register by clicking on the appropriate button and filling out the form that is proposed to you) and, once logged in, read the contract that is proposed to you, check the boxes concerning its acknowledgment and press the Continue button again.
If everything went well, you will be sent an email containing the necessary instructions to complete the procedure correctly and obtain the SPID code.
TIM
Even TIM is a provider certified by the release of the SPID, running through his service TIM id. It allows you to have a first and second-level identification through recognition via webcam (at a cost of € 19.90), via CNS / TS, digital signature and in-person recognition. Individuals can have the SPID for free, while businesses can have it at a cost of 36 euros/year + VAT.
To proceed with the request, go to the TIM website, scroll a little through the displayed page and choose the offer you are interested in, by clicking on the Citizen or Company button . Register
Another certifying body that I would like to point out to you is Register, through which it is possible to have a first and second level identification, by completing the procedure using the Health Card enabled as CNS (national service card) or by digital signature. The activation, as well as the service, is free for private users, while it costs 35 euros/year for businesses.
To proceed with the request, go to this page, click on the button Free for private use or For professional use (according to your needs) and, depending on your choice, click on the Activate for free or Buy button. Click on the Start Here button! , tick the box concerning the acceptance of the conditions of use of the service and click on the Proceed button.
Now, enter your Register.it registration data, or UserID / Email and password, in the appropriate text fields. Also specify your registration data and, after accepting the privacy policy, click on the Proceed button and follow the instructions you will receive via email to complete the operation.
InfoCert
InfoCert, another certifying body in charge of issuing the SPID, offers the possibility to receive the code by carrying out the recognition through CIE / CNS, digital signature and visu (via webcam or at authorized offices). All recognition methods are free, except for the one via webcam, which usually costs 29.90 euros + VAT. The service is free for two years.
To request the SPID, go to the InfoCert website, click on the Choose button attached to the identification method of your interest (eg Online with Digital Signature, Online with CNS or active CIE, Online with Video Recognition or In person at an InfoCert Point ). Subsequently, fill out the form that is proposed to you on the screen, specifying the registration email and password in the appropriate text fields, and click on the Register button.
At this point, you just have to follow the instructions that are provided to you based on the type of recognition requested just now, in order to complete the procedure and receive the SPID code.
Sielte
Sielte is a certification body that allows you to request the code with SPID recognition with CNS, CIE, digital signature and identification visually via webcam or through authorized offices located in Catania and Rome. The identification visually is chargeable and costs vary according to the period of activation and promotion. The service, on the other hand, is free for the first two years.
To request the SPID with Sielte, go to its website, click on the Citizen or Freelancer button or click on the Company button (according to your needs). Then press the Choose button located in correspondence with the type of identification with which to request the SPID (eg Webcam, In Person, and so on).
Now, check the boxes regarding having read the privacy policy and terms of use, click on the Next button and provide a valid email address. Subsequently, click on the Send button located next to the latter and write the verification code that was sent to you in the appropriate text field.
In conclusion, click on the Proceed button and follow the instructions you receive on the screen for sending the documents necessary for the progress of the request, checking the information on the specific summary page and the procedure for identifying and activating the SPID code.
Namirial
If the providers mentioned in the previous lines have not convinced you, you can try Namirial , which allows for the SPID at first and second level, making the recognition by the National Services Card, digital signature and recognition visually . The service is free for private users, while it costs 35 euros/year + VAT for businesses.
To make your request, visit the Namirial website and click on the Request Namirial ID now button located in the box that appeared in the center of the page. Subsequently, click on the identification method you want to use to make the request (eg CIE , digital signature , etc.) and follow the instructions that appear on the screen to complete the operation.
