How to fix Code 0xc000000f error?

Windows 7 remains the most popular OS today. But, unfortunately, this does not save her from some bugs and shortcomings. One of them is “error code 0xc000000f”, associated with loading Windows, which prevents the operating system (OS) from reading the required configurations. This means that you are most likely to encounter this problem when starting up your pc. Depending on the version of Windows and the problem, the 0xc000000f error screens will vary. On the “Seven” – a black screen will appear, the code and the reason for the failure will be indicated.

Causes of the problem

  1. Damage to drivers due to errors and malware activity.
  2. Damage to the hard drive (due to power failures).
  3. Changed BIOS settings. I / O system settings are reset to default due to repair and non-working elements of the motherboard.
  4. Damage to the Windows bootloader. It is characterized by the appearance on the boot screen of the inscription “boot bcd” – it means that the boot block files were unintentionally deleted by the user.
  5. The result of installing a pirated copy of Windows. It is characterized by an inscription about damage or absence of the “winload exe” file. This tells us that the operating system or drive from which the installation was performed is damaged. Allowed by reinstalling from another source.

Recovery methods

Disconnecting unnecessary equipment

This advice sounds unusual, but some users claim that disconnecting from their computer equipment (mouse, speaker, gamepad) helped them. This happens because the PC has a non-working driver for the device and it prevents the OS from starting up correctly. Disconnect any hardware you don’t need to start and restart your PC.

BIOS setup

  • Press the F2, Del or Escape key (depending on the BIOS version and your device) while turning on your device.
  • Go to the “Boot” section using the keyboard arrows.
  • Select the first position.
  • Set the hard drive to the first line and press F10, then “OK”.

System Restore

When using this method, there is a chance that Windows will boot even if there is a problem. Required:

  • Insert a disk or USB flash drive with Windows.
  • Place the boot device on the first line and press F10.
  • At the end of the installation, the “System recovery” window will pop up. Follow the instructions of the unpacker until the end of the procedure.
  • If the problem is not found, you need to return to the previous window and select “Reboot”.
  • No method has helped so far? Hold down the Shift + F10 keys and enter “chkdsk C: / f” in the window. It will check for failures and damage.

After starting, check the system and update the drivers.

Using Hiren’s BootCD Utility

This method is relatively more complicated than all the previous ones.

  • Download the latest version Hiren’s BootCD

     to disk or flash drive.

  • Download windows from the recorded source.
  • The program menu window will appear. Select “Dos Programs”.
  • Then select the “Hard Disk Tools …” application.
  • It is necessary to fix bad sectors, for this select “HDAT2 4.53 (Test / Repair Bad Sectors)”.
  • A menu will appear in front of you. Choose what you want.
  • Check and Repair Bad Sectors.
  • The verification process begins. Wait for the end. Once it is finished, set the boot priority in your BIOS to the old value, i.e. the first priority is to the hard drive, and extract the source with the utility from your pc.

Did the above methods help you with the startup problem? If not, then there are options: reinstalling the OS and visiting a service center to see a specialist.
