How to enable cookies
How to enable cookies: For a few days now, your browser seems “forgetful” and the Internet sites you previously accessed automatically now require you to enter your username and password at each visit? When you visit some web pages do you receive a warning about the unavailability of this or that function, due to the absence of cookies? Evidently someone has disabled cookies, or those files that are saved by browsers to remember access data, to store the settings of some Internet sites and or to enable certain specific features of the page.
Thankfully, activating them again is child’s play and I’m here to prove it to you. So follow the instructions I am about to give you and you will find out how to enable cookies easily on all major browsers to surf the net. Before continuing, however, I believe it is necessary to make a distinction between the two main types of existing cookies: there are direct cookies , that is functional for the website you are visiting; and the so -called third-party cookies , which allow you to extend the activities of some websites even outside of them (e.g. cookies that show the page visited previously, cookies that allow you to take advantage of any external platforms for comments or social and so on).
In this regard, it is necessary to make a further clarification regarding privacy: cookies could reveal information to third-party companies relating to your browsing activity, the sites you visit or the operations you perform through the browser (although not directly attributable to your person) . Therefore, if you are a particularly privacy-conscious user, don’t unblock third-party ones too lightly, unless you actually need them. Having said that, there is nothing left for me to do, except wish you good reading and good navigation!

How to enable cookies on Chrome
Let’s start this guide immediately by seeing together how to authorize the Google Chrome browser to create and use functional and third-party cookies.
On PC
If you use the computer, after opening the navigation program, click on the ⫶ button located at the top right and select the Settings item from the menu that is proposed to you. Subsequently, click on the item Privacy and security (on the side) and open the section Cookies and other site data , by clicking on the box of the same name.
From here, you can decide the behavior of the browser towards cookies, by placing the check mark next to the option that best suits your case: Accept all cookies , to unblock all cookies; Block third-party cookies in incognito mode , to enable the use of all cookies in “normal” mode and disable those of third parties while browsing incognito; or Block third-party cookies , to unblock direct cookies and always block third-party ones.
If you prefer to apply one of the more restrictive options, know that you can set exceptions, so that certain websites can always create and use cookies, both direct and third-party ones: to do this, click on the Add button corresponding to the item Sites that can always use cookies , type the Web address of the site of your interest in the field that appears later, specify whether or not to authorize the inclusion of third-party cookies by clicking on the appropriate box and, finally, confirm the changes by clicking on the button Add .
On smartphones and tablets
The steps to be taken on Chrome for Android smartphones and tablets are quite similar to those seen a little while ago: to start, tap the ⫶ symbol located in the upper right corner of the browser, select the Settings item from the menu that appears and, once in the panel next, touch the Site Settings and Cookies items .
Finally, put the check mark next to the option that best suits your needs: Allow cookies (to unblock both functional and third-party cookies), Block third-party cookies in incognito mode or Block third-party cookies parties (to always unblock functional cookies but leave third-party ones blocked).
To bypass any restrictions on the use of cookies only for a single site, tap on Add exception for a site , type its address in the text field that appears later and, after choosing whether or not to include third-party cookies parts , tap the Add button to confirm the change.
It is not possible, at the time of writing this guide, to manually block or unblock cookies on Chrome for iPhone and iPad, sorry.
How to enable cookies on Edge
Let’s now move on to Microsoft’s Edge browser , also available for computers, smartphones and tablets.
On PC
To enable cookies on Edge for computers , open the browser, click on the button (…) located at the top right and select the Settings item from the menu that appears. Subsequently, click on the item Cookies and site permissions (on the side) and click on the words Manage and delete cookies and other site data , in order to enter the section that best suits your purpose.
At this point, move the lever corresponding to the item Allow sites to save and read cookie data to ON (recommended choice) and, if you intend to enable third-party cookies , move the switch next to the wording Blocks to OFF . third party cookies .

Finally, tap the Add button .
How to enable cookies on Firefox
Now, it’s time to explain how to enable cookies on the Mozilla Firefox browser on computers, smartphones and tablets.
On PC
To allow the creation and use of cookies on Firefox for computers , it is necessary to act on the anti-tracking protection settings of the browser, as the latter does not allow you to explicitly define the behavior of the program towards cookies. So, after starting Firefox, click on the ☰ button located at the top right and select the Settings item from the menu that appears.
Now, go to the Privacy and security section (on the side) and, to unblock most of the functional cookies (except the tracking ones of social media, the inter-site ones and the tracking ones in the anonymous windows), put the check mark in the Normal box , resident in the Advanced Tracking Protection section .
If you also need to unblock the categories of cookies blocked by this last setting, put the check mark next to the Custom item instead and, to unblock all cookies , remove the check mark from the relevant item. If you prefer to block only cross-site tracking cookies, or those from websites you’ve never visited, leave the Cookies and served box checked in the adjacent drop-down menu to specify the category of cookies to always block.
On smartphones and tablets
The Firefox browser for smartphones and tablets behaves exactly like its desktop counterpart: it is not possible to intervene directly on the behavior of the app towards cookies, but you can adjust the tracking protection settings according to your needs.
To do this, tap the ⫶ button located at the bottom, select the Settings item from the menu that appears and then tap the Advanced Tracking Protection item ; now, to unlock all (absolutely all!) cookies, all you have to do is move the lever visible at the top of the screen to OFF . Then, if you want to keep Firefox’s privacy protection feature active and unlock only certain categories of cookies, put the check mark next to the Normal item , or choose the Custom option (only on Android ) and indicate which elements to unblock or block, following the same instructions already seen in the paragraph on the computer.
How to enable cookies on Safari
If you use a Mac , an iPhone or an iPad and you usually use Safari , the default navigation software for Apple-branded operating systems, the information I am about to give you below will certainly be useful.
On Mac
For example, if you are wondering how to enable third-party Mac cookies , know that the answer is really very simple. To start, start the browser, click on the Safari menu resident in the Mac menu bar (top left) and then on the item Preferences… , visible inside it; alternatively, you can access the same screen by pressing the key combination cmd +, (comma) after opening the browser.
Once in the next panel, click on the Privacy tab located at the top and remove the check mark from the Block all cookies box , to enable the browser to create and use them. Basically, all functional cookies for websites will be enabled, with the exception of tracers (generally from third parties); to alter this behavior and also enable tracking cookies, remove the check mark from the box next to the item Prevent cross-site tracking .
On smartphones and tablets
Do you want to know how to enable iPhone and iPad third-party cookies ? Nothing simpler. To start, open the device Settings , by tapping on the resident gear symbol on the Home screen or in the App Library, tap on the Safari item and, to start, move the lever corresponding to the item Block all cookies from ON to OFF .
If you are also interested in enabling all cross-site tracking and advertising cookies, set the Block cross-site tracking and Advertising measurement that protects privacy , respectively, from ON to OFF .
