How to delete musical.ly account

After hearing good things from all your friends, you too have decided to download the TikTok application, formerly known as musical.ly, and create your account. Unlike what you expected, however, you were not satisfied with the service and so you decided to delete your profile, putting an end to your experience on it. You have already tried to implement your purpose, but all the attempts you have made have not given any results, so you no longer know “where to turn your head”. Did I guess? So I don’t see where the problem is: if you want, I’m here to help you and give you a hand to be able to reach the goal you have set for yourself.

If you dedicate a few minutes of your time to me, I can explain how to delete the musical.ly account by acting directly from smartphones and tablets, through the official application of the service. In addition, I will propose some less drastic solutions to the cancellation of your account and, in case you do not change your mind, I will also tell you how to uninstall the TikTok application from your device.

Make the TikTok account private

Deleting a TikTok account is a procedure that takes a few minutes of time but which involves the definitive deletion of all data associated with it, including the products purchased. The operation is irreversible and there are only 30 days for any second thoughts, after which, it will no longer be possible to access your account and retrieve the related information.

If you are not convinced to permanently delete your account, you can first choose the least drastic solution of all, that is to make your TikTok account private, to prevent other people from finding you and following you.

To do this, start the TikTok application, pressing on its icon (a black musical note ) on the home screen of your device and, if you have not already done so, access your account by pressing on the icon of the little man present at the bottom right, then tap on the Login item, enter your credentials in the Username or e-mail and Password fields and press the √ button.

Now, tap on the little man icon in the bottom menu and press the icon (…) at the top right, then select the item Privacy settings. To make your invisible account, move to OFF the lever next to the item Let others see me and ON at the entry Private Account, then presses the voice Who can send comments and affix a checkmark next to OFF, then repeat the procedure also for the options Who can duet with me, Who can send me reactions and who can send me messages.

Finally, tap the arrow icon pointing to the left to return to the previous screen of the app, press the Push notification item and move the levers next to the items New fans, New likes to my video, and New comments to my video to OFF to turn off notifications.

Deactivate the TikTok account from smartphones and tablets

If you are not sure you want to delete your TikTok account, you can carry out the procedure of deactivating it, in order to resume using it at a later time. However, keep in mind that to regain possession of your account you will have 30 days, a period within which you will have to log in with your account data, otherwise your profile will be permanently deleted.

To carry out this operation, you must act through the TikTok application you have installed on your smartphone or tablet. Then start this app, pressing on its icon on the main screen of your device (the symbol of a black musical note ) and then log in with your account data as explained in the previous chapter, if the login does not it is done automatically.

Once this is done, press the icon with the symbol of a little man which is located in the lower right corner, then go to the Account Management section and make sure you have associated a phone number with your account, otherwise enter it in the visible text field on a screen. Then enter the confirmation code received via SMS, after pressing the right arrow symbol.

If you have already done this, click directly on the link You are thinking of deleting your account that you find in the Account Management screen, then confirm your identity by pressing the Send code item, in order to enter the code received in the appropriate text field via SMS. Then press the Continue button and confirm the account deactivation operation, first pressing on the Continue item and then on Delete account.

From now on, you have 30 days to reconsider: if you change your mind, you can reactivate your account by opening the TikTok app and logging in again with your account details. Once this is done, click on the Cancel deactivation button, in order to regain possession of your account and thus cancel the cancellation.

Delete TikTok accounts from smartphones and tablets

If you are convinced of your choice and do not intend to continue your experience on TikTok, you can delete your account from smartphones and tablets, through a procedure very similar to that of deactivation.

As mentioned above, this operation is irreversible and you will no longer be able to access the service with your credentials. In addition to losing all the videos uploaded and the data associated with your account, you would also lose all purchases made, which you will not be able to request a refund. Also, you need to know some information, such as chat messages not stored in your account, may still be visible to other users.

To delete your TikTok account, you need to act through the settings menu, after logging into the app. In addition, you must also have already associated a phone number for your account. Then start the TikTok application, log in to your account (if you have not set automatic login) and tap on the little man icon in the bottom menu to access your profile screen.

Now, if you have not yet associated a phone number to your account, press on the Account Management item and then tap on the Phone number option. In the next text field, enter your phone number, making sure that the prefix is ​​correct ( +39 for Italy). Then press the arrow symbol to the right and, in the next 4-digit code text field, enter the security code that will be sent to you via SMS.

Once this is done, go back to the Account Management screen and click on the link You are thinking of deleting your account at the bottom. On the next screen, press the Send code item, enter the code received via SMS and press the Continue button.

Once this is done, if you are convinced that you want to permanently delete your account, press the Continue button located at the bottom and confirm the cancellation by pressing the Delete account item. If you don’t log into the app within 30 days, your account will be permanently deleted.

Uninstall TikTok

After deleting your account, all you have to do is uninstall TikTok from your device. If you have a smartphone or tablet equipped with Android, access the drawer  (the screen where there are the icons of all the apps) and press the TikTok icon for a couple of seconds, until the word Uninstall appears or the trash can icon at the top. Now, always holding your finger on the TikTok icon, drag it to the Uninstall item or tap the trash can icon, then press the OK button to complete the removal.

Alternatively, you can also uninstall the TikTok application from Android Settings or the Play Store. In the first case, tap the gear wheel icon to access the Settings, press the App and Download items and press the TokTok icon, then tap the Uninstall button to complete the operation. From the Play Store, instead, type TikTok in the search bar at the top, tap on the first result and press the Uninstall and OK button to remove the app from your device. To uninstall TikTok from your iPhone or iPad, on the other hand, keep your finger pressed on its icon until the X appears  on all the apps on the home screen and they do not begin to “move”. Press the X present on the TikTok icon and tap the Delete button to confirm your intention.
