Have you scanned the pages of a book as images in JPG format and now would you like to merge them into a single PDF document? It can be done, but if you want some advice don’t waste time with the usual office software, those are very expensive and take a lot of time to do their job.

You can find some in the final part of this tutorial. Enjoy your reading and have fun!
Create PDF from JPG on Windows
If you use a Windows computer, download PDFill FREE PDF Tools and play it safe. PDFill FREE PDF Tools is a free software that collects some very useful tools to edit, create and convert PDF documents without applying annoying watermarks on them.
To download it on your PC, connect to its official website and click first on the Download now button located under the heading Get this tool only and then on the Download Now button located in the center of the page that opens.
Then start the software installation package ( PDFill_PDF_Tools_FREE.exe ) and click in sequence on Yes and Next . Subsequently, accept the conditions of use of the program by placing the check mark next to the item I accept the terms in the License Agreement and complete the setup by first clicking on Next twice consecutively and then on Install and Finish .
If you are asked to install Ghost Script and / or .Net Framework (two free software necessary for the correct functioning of PDFill FREE PDF Tools), accept and wait patiently for them to be first downloaded from the Internet and then installed on your PC.
When you are ready to convert JPEG to PDF , launch PDFill FREE PDF Tools and click the Convert images to PDF button . Then drag all the photos you want to insert in your document into the window that opens and reorder them using the Move up and Move down buttons , click the Save as button and choose the folder in which to export the PDF. If the file dragging does not work, click on the Add an image button located at the top left and select “manually” the images to import into the program. Alternatively, click on the Add all images under a folder button and select a folder to import all the images contained in it into PDFill FREE PDF Tools.
If you want, you can also activate or deactivate the insertion of a title in the PDF pages (by putting or removing the check from the Show title option ), adjust the orientation of the sheets in the document ( Portrait for vertical and Landscape for horizontal) and set parameters such as space between images and page margins ( Margin from image to new PDF page edge ). As you can see, it’s all very intuitive.
Create PDF from JPG on Mac
If you use a Mac you can achieve the same result without using third-party software: all you need is Preview , the application for viewing images and PDFs included by default in OS X.
To generate a PDF with this software, gather all the images you want to include in the document within the same folder and open. If you don’t know how to open multiple images at once, just select them all using the key combination cmd + a and double click on any of them. If you want to select only some images contained in the folder and not all, use the combination cmd + click .
When you start Preview, use your mouse to reorder the images in the program’s sidebar – that will be the order that will be reflected in the final PDF. In conclusion, click on the thumbnail of any of the images open in Preview, press the combination of keys cmd + a on the Mac keyboard (in order to highlight them all) and select the Print item from the File menu .
In the window that opens, expand the PDF drop-down menu located at the bottom left, select the Save as PDF item and indicate the folder in which to export the final document. Mission accomplished! You now have a PDF containing all the images you have opened (and reordered) in Preview.
Note: When you open images in Preview, they should automatically be grouped in the same window. If this does not happen, move their thumbnails and drag them all into the same program window.
Create PDF from JPG online
To conclude, I would like to point out some excellent online services that allow you to create PDF from JPG without installing any program on your PC. None of them require social registration or authentication and their compatibility is ensured with all the most popular browsers: Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari etc.
As for data security, all the services listed below guarantee the deletion of files uploaded to their servers within hours of uploading. however, I do not recommend that you turn to online solutions for processing PDF files that contain sensitive data (personal information, bank details, and so on).
I Love PDF
I Love PDF is an online service that offers a wide range of functions for converting and editing PDFs. In its free version it allows you to convert a maximum of 15 JPGs with a total weight of 30MB, but if you create an account on the site the upload limit rises to 20 images for 40MB of weight. To get even more, you can subscribe to the paid plan of I Love PDF which for 3.99 euros / month offers the upload of 50 images at a time for 100MB of total weight.
To create a document with I Love PDF, connect to the home page of the service and drag the images you want to include in the PDF to the center of the screen. Then use the mouse to arrange the JPG files in the order you prefer, choose the orientation and margins of the pages using the appropriate buttons at the bottom and click on Convert to PDF to obtain the output document.
Online2PDF
Online2PDF is another web service that could come in very handy. It allows you to merge up to 20 JPG images into a single PDF file, supports the adjustment of various parameters related to the quality of the output documents and has an upload limit of 100MB. Among its extra functions (which at this moment should not interest you) I would like to point out the possibility of converting PDF files and Office documents together, merging and splitting PDF documents and the removal of protection against printing and modification.
To use Online2PDF, all you have to do is connect to its main page and drag the images to convert to PDF on the Select files button. If dragging images doesn’t work, click the button and select the files “manually”. Then use the mouse to arrange the images in the order you prefer, make sure that the option Merge files is set in the drop-down menu Mode and click on the Convert button to get your document in PDF format.
If you want to adjust the orientation of the pages, their format and other properties of the output file, select the Images to PDF tab of Online2PDF and set your preferences in the menu that opens. To adjust the quality of the images, however, use the drop-down menus on the Compression tab of the service.
