Once this is done, go back to the registration page of the Steam site, enter the name to be associated with your account in the Steam account name field and check its availability. If you see the item Not available , it means that the name chosen has already been registered by another user: then enter a new name or select one of those visible in the Names available for the account box .

Finally, create a password (consisting of at least 8 characters , of which at least a number, a letter and a special character) to be used to access your Steam account, by entering it in the Password and Confirm Password fields , and click on the Complete registration button , to create your account.

If you have already downloaded the Steam client to your computer but have not yet created an account to be able to access the platform, you can create one directly from the software in question.

To do this, start the official Steam client, locate the item Don’t have a Steam account? and click on the Create a new account button . In the new screen displayed, enter your email address in the appropriate fields, select your country of residence via the drop-down menu Country of residence and put the check mark next to the items I’m not a robot and I accept, and I declare that I have at least 13 years old , in order to verify your identity and declare that you are at least 13 years old.

Once this is done, click on the Continue button and select one of the options available between I am under 14 years old (in this case, specify the email address of one of your parents and follow the instructions shown on the screen to continue with the registration) and I am more than 14 years .

Now, log in to your inbox, locate the email sent by Steam and click on the Create Account button to verify your identity and activate your account. In the new screen displayed on Steam customers, enter the required data in the Steam Account Name , Choose a Password and Confirm a Password fields and press the Complete Registration button , to terminate the registration and log in to Steam.

How to create a Steam account from smartphones and tablets

If you are wondering if it is possible to create a Steam account from smartphones and tablets using the Steam Mobile app for Android devices (also available on alternative stores , for devices without Google services) and iPhone / iPad , I’m sorry to tell you that using the app in question is allowed to log into an existing account but not create a new one.

That said, to register on Steam from smartphones and tablets, you can use the browser installed on your device (eg Chrome on Android and Safari on iPhone / iPad) and proceed as seen above from the Steam site. If this interests you, then, connected to the official Steam site , tap the ☰ button, at the top left, and select the Login option from the menu that opens.

If, on the other hand, you are over 14, log in to your inbox, locate the email sent by Steam and tap the Create account button contained therein, to activate your account. Finally, enter the username you intend to use on Steam in the Steam Account Name field , create a password to associate with your account and press the Complete Registration button , to terminate the registration and log in to Steam.

How to create a second Steam account

If your intention is to create a second Steam account , you need to know that you can have more than one account and access them from the same device without violating the terms of service. Keep in mind, however, that Steam does not allow you to merge multiple accounts: if you have purchased a game with your main account, you will not be able to become the owner with a second account and vice versa.

That said, to create a new Steam account, all you have to do is follow the directions I gave you in the previous paragraphs, making sure you have logged out of your main account first. To do this, both via browser and from the official Steam client, click on your username , at the top right, and select the option Sign out / Sign out of your account from the menu that opens. Simple, right?
