Let’s first see how to change Postepay password online . Succeeding is very simple: just open the browser you usually use to surf the Internet, go to your personal area and then act on the account settings relating to the change of credentials.
First, then, go to this page of the Poste Italiane website and log in: to do so, click on the Personal Area item (top right) and, after providing your credentials in the Username and text fields Password , click on the yellow button Login . Once logged in, you will find yourself in front of the main page of your account: you will understand it from the wording Welcome [your name and surname] , clearly visible at the top of the same.
At this point, click on the yellow Manage profile button , located under your name (at the top), in order to go to the page dedicated to account management. On the page that opens, then, click on the pencil icon corresponding to the wording Password and, if you have set up two-factor authentication, click on the Proceed button (at the top), select the method with which to authenticate (eg. Authorization via the PostePay App , SMS to a mobile number associated with your financial products ); then follow the instructions that appear on the screen to authenticate yourself (e.g. access the Postepay app on your smartphone and authorizethe operation by pressing the appropriate button or providing the code received via SMS in the appropriate text field).
At this point, in the new page opened, use the appropriate text fields ( Password , New password and Confirm password ) to enter your current and new password.
An efficient password must in fact follow some precise rules.
- Be between 8 and 16 characters in length
- Contain uppercase and lowercase letters
- Have at least one number
- Contain more than two consecutive identical characters
- Have at least one special character
If you follow these rules, in addition to those listed in my guide for creating a secure password , you will see that you can sleep reasonably soundly. After creating the password and entering it in the appropriate text fields, click on the Continue button (at the bottom of the page) and you’re done.
To confirm that everything went well, you will see the message Change password successful . From now on, in order to access all Poste Italiane services regarding your rechargeable card, you will need to use the new password you have chosen. The one previously in use will in fact be canceled.

- By phone– dial the toll-free number 803 160 , initiate the call and follow the instructions given by the voice guide to obtain assistance. When I write, you have to press key 3 , then key 1 , again key 1 and, therefore, you have to ask the virtual assistant of Poste Italiane “I want to recover my password” ). The virtual assistant at this point will ask you questions asking you for some personal data (such as the social security number): provide them and follow the instructions you will receive to be able to recover your account.
