Since November 2015, when the epoch-making confrontation between RosKomNadzor and the Telegram service began, many useful resources have been blocked. The “direct” hands of the ILV, attached to blocking the Airplane as a “hotbed of terrorism”, also blocked millions of IP addresses of Amazon and Google, Facebook, Twitter and Yandex servers, and with them the IP of banks, medical clinics, large chain stores, payment systems and other services necessary in life. The funniest thing was that the RKN managed to block even themselves, which caused a wave of related memes. In general, thanks to the RKN, a situation has turned out from the category “and your Runet has decomposed.” The distribution included, among other things, the network addresses of Sony PSN gaming services. But craftsmen among gamers have found a way to bypass the blocking of access to online services of the popular game console.

Bypass RKN blocking for PS4: step by step instructions

Partially included in the ILV blocking list due to “leaky” hands and no less “leaky” blocking system, PSN, which is natural, stopped working normally. Periodic disconnections with the service began even with stable operation and high speed of the Internet, as well as partial or complete inaccessibility of some functions. As a result, the PlayStation Network service, which was expected, stopped working altogether.

Many gamers, even at the first bell, when problems with PSN had just begun, compared two and two, linking together too suspiciously coincidental ” blocking ” of Telegram and Sony services. As a result, when the punch ” banhammerom ” on PSN yet occurred, users console from Sony knew how to bypass a blocked PS4 and return it to access online. If you own a Sony console and still don’t know what to do, we have prepared a few instructions for you.

Method one. Change DNS on the router

The easiest to implement, but not the most reliable way to solve the problem is to change the addresses of the DNS servers in the router settings to those that still work with PSN. There are three known and most stable DNS addresses. Here is a list of them:

• Main Yandex.DNS – 77.88.8.8;
• Additional Yandex.DNS – 77.88.8.1.

Bypassing the PS4 blocking in this way does not require any specialized knowledge, except for the knowledge of the IP address of the router and the data for entering the settings of the router. As a rule, if you are not an experienced user, then they are standard. However, depending on the manufacturer, they vary, but you can easily recognize them on the information sticker located on the back or bottom of the router. Just take it in hand and see – the very first line on the sticker begins with the words Web configurator, Default access, IP Address or just IP. Everything you need is indicated on this sticker. After making sure you know your router model and login information, just follow the instructions:

• Go to the web configurator of the router by entering the IP address indicated on the information sticker of the router in the address bar of the browser;
• Enter the login and password indicated on the information sticker of the router;
• Go to the section with the network connection settings – as a rule, it is called ” Internet “, ” Network ” or ” Network Settings “
• In the settings, check the presence of the item   ” Connect to DNS server automatically ” or ” Use the following DNS server addresses ” – if there is one, check it;
• Enter the required address or DNS addresses in the appropriate fields, be sure to fill in the first field;

• Save your router settings.

After all the manipulations made, be sure to check the console’s access to online services. In most situations, this will help you bypass the PS4 lock and get the PSN working again. But sometimes it doesn’t work. Then you can try another method, which will require a little time and skill.

Method two. Using a proxy server

This method will tell you how to bypass the blocking of PS4 and its online services by RosKomNadzor using such a thing as a proxy server or simply a proxy, with a minimum of technical skills. There are two types of proxies – paid and free. Paid, as the name suggests, requires a monthly payment, but in return provides a stable, high-speed connection suitable for downloading games. The free ones, unfortunately, cannot boast of this, but for playing online and for normal operation, the PlayStation Network is quite suitable. To use a proxy, you need:

• Find and select one of the public or paid proxy servers;
• Having decided on the choice, go to the settings of your PS4 console;
• Select the ” Network ” section ;
• Select ” Establish an Internet connection “;
• In the first step, “ How do you connect to the network? », Select the type of connection that matches yours:

Method three. VPN

Setting up a virtual private network (VPN) is the most reliable method when it comes to data security and connection performance. But, as a rule, high-quality “gaming” VPN-services are paid, which is not suitable for everyone. In addition, VPN technology has limitations that can determine the choice when solving the problem of blocking PSN not in favor of this method:

• Reduced speed – when using the highest-speed VPN services, the maximum speed will be up to 30 Mbps and up to 10 Mbps for receiving and sending, respectively;
• Increase in ping – “server response delay” or ping for the best VPN services grows by an average of 30-50 milliseconds or more, and this is not to mention international and overseas game servers, which can be critical when playing online;

Having decided on a VPN provider, you need, as in the first method, to make sure that you know the router model and login information, and then just follow the step-by-step instructions provided by the provider. It is also imperative to remember that using a VPN increases the load on the router. Therefore, owners of old or low-performance models of routers should choose a different way of solving the issue or take care of purchasing a new router so that using a VPN does not bring more problems than benefits.

Result

As a result of actions according to one of the proposed methods, we learned how to bypass the blocking of PS4 and PSN online services, committed by a ” malicious government agency ” called RosKomNadzor. But it should be understood that this is just a “crutch” that significantly reduces the performance of the Sony game console and, at the same time, also the Internet connection. One can only believe that the blocking of the RKN, which does not particularly understand the principles of the modern network, will soon cease to be chaotic and the operability of the PlayStation Network and other large online services will be restored. In the meantime, it remains to use various methods to bypass the locks.
