123 Free Solitaire (Windows)

If you are looking for a good free Solitaire to replace the one installed “standard” on Windows, I suggest you take a look at 123 Free Solitaire . It is a free game that includes over 10 card solitaires: the classic Klondike, Spider, FreeCell, Diplomat, Pyramid and many more. It is characterized by extremely accurate graphics and allows you to customize the decks of cards in various ways.

To download 123 Free Solitaire on your PC, connect to the game’s website via the link I just indicated and click on the red Free Download  button,  then scroll down the page that is shown to you, locate the 123 Free Solitaire item and do click the Free Download button below. When the download is complete, double-click on it and open the file you just downloaded (eg 123freesolitaire-v101 -setup.exe ) and, in the window that is shown on the desktop, click first on Yes and then on  Next .

Then accept the conditions of use of the program, placing the check mark next to the item I accept the agreement , and complete the setup by first clicking on Next twice consecutively and then on Install and Finish . If a web page opens that asks you to enter your email address, close it. It is only needed to subscribe to the newsletter of the game manufacturer.

To play one of the Solitaires included in 123 Free Solitaire, all you have to do is select it from the initial screen of the software and double-click on its name. The same screen can then be recalled by clicking on the Select a solitaire button  in the Game  tab  of the program.

If you want to change the appearance of the deck of cards or the background of the game table, click on the Appearance tab  and press the Select card set buttons   (to choose the deck of cards), Select card back  (to change the design on the back of the cards).  cards) and  Select background  (to select the background of the game table).

Microsoft Solitaire Collection (Windows)

If you are using Windows 8.x  or Windows 10, you can also download the Microsoft Solitaire Collection game which includes five different solitaire games in one free package: Klondike, FreeCell, Spider, TriPeaks and Pyramid. To download it, look for it in the Windows Store  (you can also use the link to the Windows Store Online that I have given you a moment ago) and install it on your computer by clicking on the appropriate Get button , the installation will take place automatically.

Microsoft’s Solitaire collection also includes a daily challenge system that involves achieving various objectives to earn coins and trophies. In addition, a Premium version of the app is available which does not include advertisements and increases the number of coins available in the challenges. It costs € 1.99 / month or € 14.89 / year.

To purchase the paid version of the game, click on the Menu  button  located at the top left and select the item  Switch to premium  from the bar that appears on the side. From the same menu, by selecting the Game Options item , you can also adjust the settings of the running game (eg the number of Spider seeds).

Full Deck Solitaire (Mac)

Do you use a Mac? No problem, there is a great free Solitaire also for the Apple operating system. I am referring to Full Deck Solitaire which includes many different card games (Klondike, FreeCell, Spider, etc.) and is characterized by extremely accurate graphics, with animated backgrounds and customizable card decks.

To download and install Full Deck Solitaire on your computer, connected to the Mac App Store online page dedicated to it through the link I provided you a little while ago and click on View in the Mac App Store (located on the left). In the window that opens, click the Get / Install the app button and type your Apple ID password to complete the operation.

To choose the Solitaire to play with, simply click on the Menu button located at the bottom left.

250+ Solitaires (Mac)

Still on Mac, you can turn to  250+ Solitaires . As easily understood by the name itself, this is another nice free collection that includes more than 250 solitaire cards, including Spider, Freecell and Klondike. It has very elegant graphics and a description of the rules and a demonstration are provided for each game.

To download the solitaire on your computer, connected to the Mac App Store online page using the link I gave you in the previous lines and click on the View button in the Mac App Store . In the window that opens, click on the Get / Install the app button  on the left and type your Apple ID password to start downloading and then installing the app.

Once the game is started, you will find playable solitaire games in the menu where all the games are collected. Click on the one that interests you most and start playing immediately, even in full screen.

Free Solitaire Online

Don’t feel like downloading and installing games on your PC? Don’t worry, you can find many types of free online Solitaire playable directly from your browser. One of them is  Net Solitaire  which includes Klondike, Spider, Pyramid, FreeCell and many other card pastimes that can be used completely free of charge. The site does not require registration and is based on HTML5 technology, which means that it works on all browsers and all devices (including smartphones and tablets) without the need for Flash Player, Java or other special plugins.

To put it to the test immediately, connected to its main page via the link I have just indicated, click on the Games button   located at the bottom left and select the game in which to try your hand.

To change the decks of cards and the background of the game table, click instead on the Settings button   and select the Appearance item   from the menu that opens.

I suggest you also experiment with  World of Solitaire which offers a wide range of playable Solitaire games without having to install absolutely anything on your computer and, of course, without spending a cent. It includes the “evergreen” Klondike but also the Spider, the FreeCell, La Belle Lucie, the Pyramid and many more. Again, all games are in HTML5.

To access the list of Solitaires available on the site, visit the main page via the link I just indicated, select the Solitaire menu  at the top left and then click on  Select Game… . Then click on the name of the game you want to start from the box that appears and then press the Select game button   to start your game.

To adjust the settings use the items attached to the Options menu , while to change the appearance of the game table or deck of cards use the Decks and Background menus   always located at the top left.

There are also other sites you can turn to to play a “little game” of online Solitaire. Among the most interesting are  Kongregate and Y8 which both offer a huge range of online Flash solitaire games and therefore require Flash Player to work (if you remember, I explained how to download it in my article on how to install Flash Player ) unlike Net Solitaire and World of Solitaire. To play, all you have to do is click on the preview image of the video game you want to start.

Free solitaire for smartphones and tablets

As I told you at the beginning of the guide, as well as on the computer, you can also play Solitaire on smartphones and tablets. Here are some free titles compatible with major mobile platforms.

• Microsoft Solitaire Collection( for Android , for iOS and for Windows Phone ) – The Solitaire collection for Windows 8/10 is also available for Windows Phone as well as for Android and iOS and allows you to synchronize games and scores between multiple devices.
• 250+ Solitaires Free( for Android and for iOS ) – Basically the mobile variant of the aforementioned Solitaire for Mac. It is in fact a collection of over 250 Solitaire games for iOS and Android. It includes Freecell, Klondike, Canfield and many other more or less original card games. The graphics are not really its strong point but the fun is guaranteed.
