Error 2000: Network Error on Twitch
While watching a stream on Twitch, the broadcast may be interrupted by a black screen with the inscription “2000: network error”. At the same time, other broadcasts also stop working, and further use of the service becomes impossible. How do I fix this crash?
Delete all browser cookies
When you clear your cookies, you will be automatically logged out of all website accounts.
- Launch the Chrome browser on your computer.
- Click on the icon with three dots in the upper right and go to “Settings”.
- Select “Additional” at the very bottom.
- You need a section “Privacy and Security” in it you need to click “Content Settings”.
- Then select “Cookies”.
- Then go to “All cookies and site data”.
- Click Remove All.
- Confirm your action.
Add Twitch to antivirus exclusions
For different anti-virus software, the algorithm of actions, as a rule, differs. Let’s look at an example of Avast antivirus. Open the program window and then follow this path: “Settings” / “Components” / “General” / “Exceptions”.
Then enter in the line “www.twitch.tv/”.
Click “Add” and “Ok”. Now your antivirus will not block Twitch.
ZenMate VPN Extension
Experts and users note that the main reason for the black screen with error 2000: Network Error on Twitch is the blocking of servers by Roskomnadzor. Many have managed to fix this by installing the ZenMate VPN extension.

- To make the service work, put a different country (it doesn’t matter) and run it.
Other possible solutions
If all the previous methods did not fix the error, try the following guidelines.
- Disable ad blocker (AdGuard, Adblock Plus, AdFender) and other similar add-ons in your browser.
- Go to Twitch using a different browser.
- Try the login sequence – change the PC version to the mobile version (or vice versa).
- Restart your computer and network device. This is especially true when using a wireless router.
- If the error 2000: Network Error occurred while using the VPN service, deactivate it (disable it).
